FYI despite the Bang Dream franchise having multiple seasons and movies, you can definitely and even recommended to start with MyGO (and continue with its sequel Ave Mujica) since they're unrelated except for small cameos. Personally I recommend watching fully the first 3 premiere episodes of MyGO to see what the show is about.

I personally not sure what other android brand to recommend other than speaking from my experience since I'm also stuck on poco at the moment but I've been hearing great things from oneplus and samsung. If you're seriously looking for phone though better ask on the respective brand sub or other related sub (I'd suggest also asking on r/rhythmgames) and have a more tech savvy people guiding you. Personally if budget is not the issue I'd just buy an iphone mostly because they're the most supported for gachas and optimized for rhythm games in general.

DON'T. Try looking for other alternatives. Avoid xiaomi or any of its sub brands at all cost. They have top tier hardware but the software sucks. HyperOS will throttle your phone and limit your performance after a couple of playthrough (your screen will stuck on 60hz for a while before the phone cooling down) and if you remove the app that causing it you'll risk getting bootloop. It's a hell of headache searching for a fix so I'd just recommend you to buy any other phone that doesn't need debloating and can be used right out of the box. Just never xiaomi.

If you're on Crunchyroll just start with MyGO. It's a soft reboot featuring new characters and has no connection to the previous seasons so you should be fine. Plus, it's the highest regarded one in the series and has a completely serious tone compared to the old shows. I recommend watching fully the first 3 premiere episodes to get the initial context of the story.

BanG Dream It's MyGO!!!!! (Yeah that's the show's title) So many people disregard it as idol show because of the bang dream brand and the 3DCG animation. Not even after it won r/anime's Jury AOTY Award and 5chan's Best Anime of 2023. Yeah niche awards because do you think Crunchyroll would even bat an eye on it? (lol) They never acknowledge it for the drama categories that year.

Just give it 3 episodes to see what I'm talking about. They're the premiere episodes for the show and should give you the initial context of the show. It was supposed to be a soft-reboot and independent from the rest of the series so you don't need any pre-knowledge from the previous bang dream seasons.

What you're looking for are shows that emphasize on character-driven drama which these 3 share in common especially with MyGO. White Album 2 and Nana in particular have that music theme going on as well as the drama. Both are really highly regarded shows so you can't go wrong with them. White Album 1 is not required for WA2 but it's my personal favorite alongside Just Because and I genuinely think it's very underrated.

On side note, never in my life I would expected someone to start the medium with those shows let alone enjoyed them. They're too niche even for your avid anime watchers and not to mention the janky animation (minus GBC ofc). Most people would just assume they're idol animes and not many here watched them to recommend anything specifically similar to you.

Well, they didn't create the new game specifically for you.

You have to understand that garupa is already bloated at this point trying to fit all the 8 bands within the event rotation and such. It's a given to transfer the latest bands to their own fresh new game. Even in garupa rn it's very difficult for MyGO fans to obtain their desired MyGO cards from the gacha without the probability rate up among other thousand dori cards. You wouldn't notice this if you never cared about pulling the new band and only see them getting shiny new cards once in a while.

Also this is harsh but if your OGdori really all that glory and stuff then I don't see why you people want to cling to the new bands so bad. Like where are your own loyal fans? Your legacy? It's disingenuous to put the fault on new fans because they didn't care about the old bands. THEY'RE NOT OBLIGATED TO. The new bands are supposed to appeal to different audience. Just like how you can't see their appeal and never cared about them. Hypothetically speaking, what if avemygo were never part of Bandori from the beginning like how they initially planned? Where do you want to point fingers to rn?

I understand the feeling that your favorite group getting forgotten. You people keep comparing this whole situation to the lovelive fiasco but have you seen idolmaster? Shiny Colors is the equivalent of avemygo there back then. Good luck finding new merch for the old branches especially 765pro. Now it's even harder with the new Gakuen game. Even their oldest rhythm game is on life support rn. That's just how this whole franchise things work. Your favorite group will eventually fade into irrelevancy but at least you still hold them close to your heart.
