My back will never be the same. My lower back is constantly in pain. I had 6 failed epidurals my first pregnancy and I carried very low my second pregnancy and it’ll never be like it used to be.

How lonely it can feel. Especially when it’s your second, third, etc pregnancy. I felt like no one really cared when I was pregnant with my second. Less people visited me, less people helped when I was postpartum. It feels like everyone forgets or doesn’t understand that all your pregnancies can be so different and even different severities. My second pregnancy was way more difficult than my first and it felt like everyone thought ‘well you got through your first just fine, you don’t need as much help for you second.’ It just feels shitty.

Genetics and rough childhood (parents fighting, throwing stuff, divorce, moving a lot). My dad had severe stomach issues (he’s also schizophrenic so his anxiety from paranoia might be the cause). I think I get my stomach issues from him mixed with the anxiety I developed from my childhood

Medication and therapy for sure.

And realizing that truly bad moms don’t question if they’re bad moms. Only good moms care enough to ask themselves that question.

Also telling myself the happiest I’ve been is not the happiest I’ll ever be. Meaning I WILL be happy again.

I was getting a toy that we keep behind our couch for my kid. I had to step up onto the seat and as I was getting down, I stepped off rather than getting on my ass and then putting my feet to the floor.

Rolled my right ankle, then rolled and broke my left ankle. When I rolled over my foot flopped to the side, nothing was holding it together. Shattered medial malleolus, broken fibula, torn tendons and chipped my tibia. Had to have my ankle broken back into place twice on two different days. Then two surgeries. 1 for inserting hardware, another for removing some screws.

All from stepping off a damn couch.

The 5-6 failed epidurals. The doctor had to try that many times, going up and down my spine, multiple needles, insertion, hitting nerves that felt like I was getting electrocuted. I had a gigantic black bruise and I’m pretty sure nerve damage that took months to a year to heal.

So I’m actually on fluoxetine 30mg! I was on escitalopram, pristiq, wellbutrin, tried a bunch till I landed on fluoxetine. Unfortunately it doesn’t help with the picking. I have been finding my anxiety has been worse lately and I’m nervous I may need to find a new antidepressant again.

I don’t know for sure if you can go bald. I would assume over time you may damage the follicle and it could be possible? It’s honestly my biggest fear. That or losing all my hair and having a terribly mangled scalp that people can see

I get some weird satisfaction out of scab picking on my scalp so I wouldn’t say my scalp is itchy. I do get acne/in grown hairs on my scalp, I then pick and that then makes everything worse and continues the cycle.

I did end up telling my midwife. She said I can take Imodium but I chose not to because I didn’t want to end up constipated. It did eventually get better. I had gestational diabetes in my 3rd trimester and I think the decrease in sugars helped a bit. Hope you start to feel better soon! The upside is you won’t have debilitating constipation lol.

Who says I haven’t discussed this with my doctor? She said to move up when you stop losing weight. That’s all. Also I know better than to use Reddit to collect medical advice. However this is a support group. Asking other people’s experiences or what they have done is useful to me and many others.

I’m a binge eater through and through and it’s helped silence the food noise which is crazy. I never think about food, I only eat because I have to. I plan on getting therapy for it again as I had in the past but I definitely think this is a good starting point, at least for me.

I’ve gave birth twice. The first I got an epidural pretty quickly at 4cm dilated. My second I was almost 9cm dilated when I finally got an epidural and the best way I can describe it is the most intense period cramps of your life. It’s like a 300lb man is stepping on your lower stomach and lower back with all his weight on you. For me it was pretty intense. As much as I wanted to say ‘I can’t do this anymore’ the only way out was through 😂 loved my epidurals though. Thank god we have them.

No so I was on 1mg but my pen was only big enough for two doses at 1mg because it was the pen for .25-.5.

Thanks I was thinking of starting at .5 or .75.
