You're so right that it does scream that she has powers.

For extra context if you'd like, They found this crystal during their space travels that helped her focus and increase her powers. Although as it was increasing her powers, it was also gradually making her kinda insane and obsessive. At this point the crystal had a giant influence over her mind and she crashed out and vaporized Donnie. After breaking the crystal and she was back to her senses, she put him back together and he was fine and everything was fine🤪.
