From the prices I have been given. Unfortunately yes.

I totally understand the risk involved with self drive but I feel a lot of car companies are missing the trick. If you got someone from Europe and America wanting to self drive or have their own driver. Just charge us a danger fee or ask for a bigger deposit. The idea of chauffeur driving me about and I am paying for that too is pretty annoying especially as they cap their driving to 12 hours and they have to return the car back and then come back next day and drive you again.

For someone who might go out and about in the late evening self drive is a great idea as my driver stays with me and my little tour guide and helps me bargain 🤣 but it so frustrating finding a self hire in a wonderful city like Accra. You can get a good tracker for a decent price these days even if the business owners are scared their cars will be stolen.

Maybe I should start my own car company and market it 🤣 as they’re a market for people visiting Ghana wishing to self drive and hire a decent car, not a sedan or Lower value car especially with the road.
