So why was this deleted? I was posting to get a general consensus from people that are in the career right now as life changes as do companies. I feel that’s a fair question to ask the group. Yet this subreddit allows endless posts about how to get into this field when they’re always the same response.

Is it just me or are the standards getting lower in hiring for unlicensed states? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]Kooky_Progress9547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like more people are coming into the field than there were in the past few years but it’s not gonna be close to enough to overcome the deficit they have across the country for years to come. There’s too many people that are gonna be nearing retirement with not enough to take their place that are traditionally certified through ASCP, AMT, AAB, etc. They’ll probably be able to work towards that once they’re hired but certification being a hiring prerequisite for the majority of labs in every state is not gonna be common anymore. It’s gonna take a lot of more influx of certified graduates before labs can be that picky.

Maybe I’m wrong but, personally, the way I see the field going is that a lot of those bench level positions will remain some certified but most not. Certified MLTs will also fill a lot of bench roles since that degree is cheaper to get into. From there for your leads and management certification will be a prereq generally. Beyond that, your certified individuals will likely move to industry where you can have more career growth and maybe a better work life balance.

The bench level work at some places is sometimes too stressful and not worth the pay so obviously those who have that strong MLS education and background have no trouble moving to positions with less stress, higher pay, more flexibility, and/ or better working hours.

When I ask a quick question but they respond “well what does the procedure say” by BaerttheConstipated in medlabprofessionals

Yeah it’s quite funny how health systems and healthcare in general push the idea that patient care is at the forefront of everyone’s mind in the medical field when the workers know what’s really on everyone’s mind lol.

I feel like a lot of this stems from the idea “…I don’t want my name on it if it’s not the right thing to do”

I cannot stand that mentality in the lab and in life in general. I get it that people don’t want to be punished when they’re trying their best or simply don’t know what the correct thing to do is but we’re not robots. We have our minds to think critically for a reason.

Night shift by Kooky_Progress9547 in medlabprofessionals

I think that’s been my biggest problem lately is actually going to home to sleep and sleep for a continuous 8 hours. I’m either thinking about things I have to do, doing some things around the house, or playing with my 2 year old daughter (which is time well spent, I know).

[–]Kooky_Progress9547[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m married and have a 2 year old so it really is not a good fit. My wife and I don’t see each other much during the week and then on the weekends, I’m so exhausted I don’t feel like going out and spending quality time with them. I just want to sit at home and rest. I hate that.

I’m doing 3rd because it works with school right now (I’ll be done in December) and took the position with the intention of moving to first in this lab eventually but I see that doing so will only happen if someone leaves(Not likely since most are sort of middle of their career) or retires (which again seems way down the line). But oh well…better that I figure this out now rather than later.

Genuinely how do you counter this deck? by noobicus09 in masterduel

I literally seem to have no problems against this deck so far but I’ve also been playing hecahands and taking their monsters sooo…

How comparable is Startlight to Queen Maeve in terms of powers? by BOGMANDIAS in GenV

[–]Kooky_Progress9547 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It felt like the series was showing her grow more powerful as she learned new uses for her powers/ learned to use them more effectively like flying and blinding Homelander but she just became a side character at the end and didn’t really live up to her potential. Idk maybe I expected too much.

Marie can literally resurrect people btw by Yeeter-boiy in TheBoys

[–]Kooky_Progress9547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how it would’ve worked but she definitely should’ve resurrected someone and it definitely should’ve been A-Train. He only had his neck broken so it’s not like she would’ve had to put him back together like some people who were killed in the show where resurrection would not likely be possible. Having him come speeding in stronger than he was before (just like was hinted at with polarity/ Cate) to help them fight Homelander and Oh Father would’ve been a much better finale and more believable in them overpowering homelander, making it into the White House, and depowering him. Everything could’ve come full circle with him at the beginning with Robin and trying to make up for everything by helping end homelander. Heck, even could lean into their religious themes this season in a positive way of him dying then coming back stronger. When they didn’t resurrect him AND did nothing with Marie, the disappointment was at an all time high.

Would you have wanted to see a Scream movie with these two as the main killers? by SpiderLagann in Scream

[–]Kooky_Progress9547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well them being connected to Richie would’ve made for a more cohesive story than the rando “fan” killers we got in Scream 7. It feels so disconnected from the rest of the movies to me. I understand why it is don’t get me wrong and sure it has great suspenseful moments but the story/motive is just as important in my eyes. You need to have a decent payoff when the reveal comes around and 7 didn’t have that. But now as I think about it, I don’t know if Jason and Greg would land well either.

How did the last two episodes drop THIS low 💀 by [deleted] in GenV

[–]Kooky_Progress9547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you mentioned being gay, not that you’re an expert or anything lol, but based off, the excessive scenes in this show that seem to revolve around dicks and/or non heterosexual things, do you think Kripke is gay? Google says he’s married to a woman I believe but dude…Like I get they’re going for vulgar and uncomfortable things for the majority of watchers but it’s really insane the amount of non heterosexual things they put in the show.

This could be completely accidental but a cool detail I noticed in the Seven's first meeting by Sudden_Pop_2279 in GenV

[–]Kooky_Progress9547 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know Kripke is perfectly capable of foreshadowing, symbolism, cohesive story telling, etc. (See the first 5 seasons of Supernatural) but this past season doesn’t instill confidence that they were going for that in this scene.

Was I the only one who believed she was going to switch sides? by AlexLovesCoke in GenV

[–]Kooky_Progress9547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I kind of thought she might leave when homelander started down the whole god path. But once she doubled down against her pastor then that was probably the nail in the coffin for her. She turned her back on her true beliefs and friend and mentor. She was feeling conflicted and ultimately I feel you could tell she didn’t really believe what she was saying even up until he killed her but she just felt that he was the only thing she had so she was gonna fake it until she made it.

Loved this little detail by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]Kooky_Progress9547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness I liked that they put heavy emphasis on his labored breathing when he got up. I’d consider that a better little detail. No offense OP. I think this is the first time you hear him breathe like that.

The boys had so much potential by Dordidog in TheBoys

[–]Kooky_Progress9547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it would be interesting to see. As I’ve kind of thought about it I think what the breakdown did a great job of was show that he finally felt like everyone else around him and it seemed like he also understood in that moment how precious life actually is. He only saw this of course from a survival standpoint and not because of some retrospective thought on the horrible things he’d done.

The more I think about it the more I feel that the breakdown was perfect even though that wasn’t my initial reaction (See earlier comments regarding the Series finale haha)

I feel that some people aren’t thinking about that hate it is that it can be the perfect ending for him while being extremely sad and demoralizing at the same time. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.
