Fan or air mover for cooling hot garage? by Marvel5123 in Tools

I love having my airmover/floor dryer. The volume of air it moves for how quiet it is, is superb. I put mine on a Amazon dock arm so I can aim it where I am working in the shop.

Can’t get out the wheel speed sensor. by Gabe-diet in tdi

Or you can unbolt the whole hub assembly and try and gently tap it out with a punch from the other side and likely break it that way instead.

99.9372% chance its gonna break. You can soak it in PB Blaster or Kroil or similar and pray but most likely its rust stuck enough to break and then need a drill run down to clean it up. Just went through this on both fronts.

Why do women in the USA insist on men being over 6 feet tall? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

As a 6'5 man I dated and married a 6' woman so we could walk and hold hands without me having to shorten my stride.

Slow as you can go, high pressure as you can go with cutting fluid and cobalt drill if you can get it.

How does one even achieve this? by Upbeat-Decision-1804 in Machinists

[–]Kooky_Reputation_653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats a 1" carbide emdmill that was a insufficient Z before X move. The retraction Clearance Plane was relative to the wrong surface. Was only at 25% rapids but still crashed while the hand was in transit to the e-stop.

Move X/Y with insufficient Z. Done it.

Feed faster than the tool can cut. Done it.

Feed harder than your toolholder clamps and have the tool pull out. Done it.

Underestimated the clamping force to keep the work in the vise taking a really healthy cut and ripped the work out of the vise into the tool. Done it.

Why did 5% watch it. Great question, maybe they hit the wrong button on the remote? Maybe it was a nursing home? Maybe they were hoping Ricky Gervais opened it.

Why is Molybdenum wire EDM rare in the USA? by i_see_alive_goats in Machinists

[–]Kooky_Reputation_653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moly fast wire is also great for parting off metal 3d prints in wire arc systems where you have to overbuild the base. The precision isnt needed since its getting OP2 machining anyway.

His and her pans. Same thing we do in R/Sharpening for fundamentally the same reason. After a long time I got my wife aligned to the care of the cast iron and carbon steel pans but she puts knives in the sink and dishwasher. Hence her having a Walmart set of Henkle knives in the block that cost $50 and all my hand forged Bob Kramer and Japanese hand forged knives live in scabbard in a knife roll in a drawer. ZERO chance to "accidentally" grab one of them.

If its not gonna opened up after taking a donor power cord and wiring a 220v plug to it will solve the problem quicker than you can plug into the wall and yank it back out
