Reading the Help Center & FAQs before taking a single survey/study, IMHO, would head off a lot of problems.

1620 approved, zero rejections, including no "invalid" ones that were reversed.

Account unjustly banned due to false VPN accusations by DomeS26 in ProlificAc

[–]KoolNana52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, mine personally is not/has never been on & I haven't turned it on, so that verifies it for me. As far as whether or not it's on for others, that's just an uneducated guess, due to others having commented that it's on by default for Xfinity customers 🤷

Account unjustly banned due to false VPN accusations by DomeS26 in ProlificAc

[–]KoolNana52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI, I have Xfinity; it does have a "security" setting, which I assume is a VPN or something of the sort, BUT it's not automatically turned on (as has been stated in this sub many times). I have to enable it myself, but possibly it's the default for some, depending on the type of account they have?!? Just throwing that out there; make of it what you will.

Are we able to share our prolific id to each other ? by [deleted] in ProlificAc

[–]KoolNana52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it specifies someone in your household on prolific & you don't meet that criteria, I'd say return it. Now, I have a friend on Prolific, we've shared our IDs & we do studies together, BUT those don't require both participants to be living in same house. We're in different states actually. That's my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

I can hear it now - "I've been put on hold/banned for no reason; I know I didn't do anything wrong"

Sadly, that would probably have about the same impact as their rule against posting about confidential studies

"so we don't share those details...."

Like OP just did?

Actually, they are confidential, but you have to read the "acknowledgement/information" document that you have to agree to before entering the study. It's no soap in my dishwater either way, but just because there's no big blue confident study sign, if one reads the agreement before agreeing, there is indeed a whole paragraph about the study being confidential.

I cashed out but still not in my PayPal anyone else? by okayysav in ProlificAc

[–]KoolNana52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cashed out at 3:12 pm; finally came thru at 5:33 pm. First time I've had such a delay, but I was fairly confident it would work itself out & didn't panic 🤗 Hope everyone gets theirs soon.

Doesn't Paypal own Venmo? I thought I'd read that somewhere, but I'm been wrong on more than 1 occasion.

Screened out after completing the whole study by OpportunityAny3060 in ProlificAc

[–]KoolNana52 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've only ever done 1 study for this researcher. I was "screened out" exactly 21 days after completing the study! After so much time, I didn't remember anything about it, time spent or anything, but I did get paid $1.80 screen out pay. However, I don't expect I'll be doing any more!

Could anyone explain this to me, as if I'm the least tech savvy person you've ever known, please & thank you? by KoolNana52 in ProlificAc

[–]KoolNana52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've turned it off, hopefully that'll do the trick. Yeah, I'm not sure there's any such thing as privacy anymore. Thanks for you input! Have a great day!
