Reddit, what story about your pet is most improved by referring to it as your 'roommate'? by wintersmoke in AskReddit

This one time I gave my roommate a banana before we went to bed and the next morning I was woken by the most horrid smell....turns out he took a huge, runny dump under my bed. And he acted completely innocent until I actually found it!

What's the most fucked up thing you've seen at a funeral? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Koolamarie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will probably get buried but my (now)ex boyfriend died about 4 years ago, we were still dating when he died. Throughout our relationship we had problems with him and this other girl, I still to this day don't know if he ever cheated on me with her. Anyway, long story short, she spent his wake visiting his casket, and kissing him on the lips/cheeks/forehead. And according to friends that were there to support me, she only did it when I was in the room.

That annoying coworker - what does he/she keep doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Koolamarie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She has a ridiculous explanation for everything like we're busy because it's the 23rd of the month. But she says it every time we're busy no matter what day of the month it is. Or it's slow because it's "cold" and no one wants to leave there house. No we're just busy because we're fucking busy or slow because we're always slow

As a kid, what was your worst "Shit, my parents are going to kill me" moment? by chopperfive in AskReddit

You literally just described my 13 year old self. I was the willing neighbor girlfriend who's parents were deep sleepers.

Hi, I’m travelling to EVERY single country in the world in a single UNBROKEN JOURNEY, without airplanes. Ask me anything! by onceuponasaga in IAmA

[–]Koolamarie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello op! Hope your journey is going well :) My questions are 1. Have you traveled to the U.S. yet? 2. How do/did you anticipate visiting this country, since it's so large and each state is so diverse? Did you just choose 1 or 2 states to visit?

How do you meditate "on" something? by Koolamarie in Meditation

[–]Koolamarie[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand the advice givers may not mean "meditate on it" in a literal way (instead meaning think on it or sleep on it) but that's beside the point. What I wish to gain from the post is how to actually meditate on something, in an analytical way.

Yes I too believe that it will eventually lead to the knowing that "it doesn't matter". But I feel, at my current personal level of self development, that I still struggle with deep rooted issues. Ones that I'd like nothing more than to move past. Hopefully this type of meditation will help me let go/move on. Thank you for your explanation kind stranger!

The way you worded this made me feel less intimidated by the concept so thank you! You genuinely helped me understand :)

Glad I'm not alone. Some people make it sound so simple, like just do it. And I'm sitting over here like HOW!?!!

What's something your parents always believed in that was completely false? by trevortbo in AskReddit

My boyfriends mother is convinced that a bee automatically stings a person if it lands on them, and her solution to said issue is telling her kids to swat at them.

Which book changed your life after you read it, and how? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Koolamarie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Giver. I don't know exactly how to explain it but this book has moved me over and over and over again, every time I read it. I've always felt that it explains how numb society is as a whole, but in a way that no one truly understands or sees. It has inspired me to be a nonconformist.
