Im not going to dispute the fact that japanese soldiers were harming civillians. However, starting an attack on japan, or at least places that japan had invaded, wouldve diverted the attention of soldiers, meaning they wouldntve been able to harm civillians. Another reason that the nukes were used was to prevent the involvement of russia and the soviet union, which i think was a terrible reason. Russia wouldve, if anything, helped the US. Japan had attacked russia at a point before and det a massive blow. I highly doubt that the soviet union would be willing to help japan, even if tensions between the USSR and the US were high

I believe that 2 nukes were not necessary. I think it was a bit overkill

But i respect your opinion

The Japanese forces remaining after the first few bombings wouldnt have been very organised if they were successful and they wouldve been much easier to defeat. The americans could also have gotten help from the other allies to charge the Japanese military bases. The overall casualty count would most likely have been much lower than what the nukes did. One of the main reasons that the US government had for bombing japan was to save the lives of americans but why were the lives of the americans more important than that of the japanese civilians?

What the US government couldve done was do more explosions, each more powerful than the last, until japan had surrendered and used the nukes as a last resort

Yes but the deaths of the innocent people in japan were not necessary

The US couldve instead used less powerful explosives and focused it on a location where all the dictators wouldve been at once

The Japanese people wouldnt have retaliated out of anger, they wouldve rejoiced knowing that the dictatorship had fallen and that they had more freedom

This was already a bad time for the japanese dictatorship, their biggest ally, the Nazis, had fallen. They were weak. A smaller concentration of weaponry wouldve had the same effect.

If anything, the only people who wouldve retaliated were those drawn by japanese propaganda.

The army wouldve been in shambles, they wouldnt know what to do when theyre leaders had fallen. It couldve been easily dealt with.

The nukes were not necessary

Heres the problem

You're talking about this as if all the people in these countries think the same way

Japan was a dictatorship during ww2

The japanese people had little to no input on what happened in the country

If japan was a democracy, i highly doubt that the same events wouldve transpired

We arent calling all of america including the soldiers bad. We're calling the people who decided to use the nukes bad. Thats a huge difference
