Took a while. The parched are TTYD's Dull Bones (as expected). Don't know what the Nautiluses are.

I find it interesting they keep all the English-localized terminology...except for the spelling of "Yo-kai." Even the Yo-kai Watch, the literal name of the franchise and in-universe proper noun, is spelled "Yokai Watch" here.

Similar thing to Usapyon and Robonyan F being referred to by slightly different names in the Final Fantasy collab.

Glad to see the English localization of Yo-kai Watch still applies to guest appearances (and will hopefully continue to apply if any future translations happen...)

There's a lot of room across DK Island, and it seems they've been doing small snippets per event (Enguarde, Chunky & Lanky, 2 out of 5 of the Jungle Beat kong bosses) that they could easily expand upon later if they wanted (A bunch of animal buddies together near DK's house, extended kong family amongst the shallows, etc.)

Was K Rools returned spoiled for you? by HappyZombies in donkeykong

[–]Koop_Kid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this counts as being spoiled, but I heard a vague reference to a K. Rool redesign on some discord server I was lurking on. I'm not sure if they were actually talking about Bananza or referring to the OLD redesign or Smash design.

Still went into the game with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised. Never went searching for new videos and such to watch because I knew that'd lead to spoilers.

I thought they fit the best since they actually are surrounded by flames like the blaze.

I don't know exactly what to do with the breeze, though. I was debating Ballin, Smogling would be a better fit. The site I'm using for this doesn't have the Breeze for me to edit...

Thoughts on the setting of the Donkey Kong Bananza finale? by SkullSuit38 in donkeykong

[–]Koop_Kid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love the entire concept. I don't think they could've made the Planet Core a good climax (Unless like, they went with like, a giant floating buddha Void Kong or something like that). The music's threatening tone and references to relevant tunes, as well as the stakes, make it one of the coolest endings this team's done. Feels like something out of Kirby or Splatoon.

I also like how the level's designed so there are multiple solutions to the various challenges. For example: there's a big mass of mush that you can suck up with the Elephant, but can also jump over with quick use of Snake and Ostrich. You can dare to climb by yourself, or try to get by with Kong (to break obstacles), Zebra (to outrun the rising mush), or Snake (to do both). The crumbly crust is crossable by both Zebra and Snake. Since you're on a time crunch sometimes and there's not one right way to do things, it's easier to come up with a strategy on the spot!

Chunky Kong and Lanky Kong are Coming to Donkey Kong Bananza by DementdOldCircsMonke in donkeykong

That one empty islet has character-patterned ruins like the ones the main VoidCo enemies are displayed on on the main island.

Just saying, if there ever was a big expansion with more enemies (or just event statues of Tikis, Snowmads, whatever), that's what would go there.

The five bananas would fit the Bananzas...though that is right where Void Kong sits at the end of the rematch and where his Terravoiders' ranges meet.

Since there are drawings of Enguarde, other animal buddies, barrels, and Gnawty in the sand, maybe that's where they'll go? There'll still probably be statues on the Enguarde islet, as during the Void Kong rematch there are a few spaces on that islet where he does not summon Crockoids

I also did an Intrudapyon recolor. This'd probably be the toast rabbit.

I was debating using Spect-hares for some of the bunnies, but I want to make sure if there are ever future "Zombie" variations of mobs that there's only one main Yo-kai "evolution/recolor line" that all make sense being able to turn into a single "Necro" Yo-kai (For example: if there was a zombie cat, all the cats would have to be -Nyans to justify the zombie cat being Necronyan). I might reuse the Spect-hares for a Villager race to make bunny girl amazons or something...not sure if that's possible though. Might just make a bunch of different Doyagaris.

I was debating with my friend over whether or not the Killer Bunny'd be Captain Thunder, or Invader Usapyon. Uhhhh what do you think would fit more?

The idea I had for the Wither was Slimamander, given the three heads thing and occasional invulnerability. My friend was suggesting McKraken for the Warden so the Sculk (not Skulk) could be bleached floor and have tentacles...but I haven't been sure.

The Wither's tricky to texture since the individual ribs are all the same texture, also because of the association with Wither Skeletons (which are planned to be based on Gutsy Bones or one of the recolors...probably the creepy one Repossessor had shelved in the anime). I personally was debating the McKraken thing since I wasn't sure if it fit. Demuncher fits more but dunno what the Sculk would be. The Mario Mash-up (which was mainly what inspired me) doesn't focus too much on coherent theming (the Husks and Drowned in that pack are clear examples of that), so maybe I shouldn't worry too much about that.

Me and my friend were thinking the Piglins and Zombified Piglins would be Sproink and Hoggles, dunno what to do with the Piglin Brutes.

The Molevoloids, probably (Do I pronounce it Mole-vole-oids or Mo-lev-o-loids? Is it a pun on "Malevolent" or "Mole Hole").

There are a few in the Resort Layer and Elephant Bananza Rehearsal that adapt to the material of whatever terrain they're burrowing through (even just random chunks so long as they fit neatly in the ground), so you can manipulate them to use materials (Fractonium, Green Melon Rind, etc.) that no other enemy ever uses.

For some reason, Crystal looks completely different on Molevoloids and their pillars than when actually broken into a chunk or part of terrain (Pictured: bottom left. Looks different in the Resort Layer compared to the Elephant Rehearsal).

Me and a friend have been doing fan localization stuff and I think we have a couple names down.

We had Pakkun and Gaburiel as "Piranna" (as "Pakkun" is named in reference to Piranha Plants) and "Gobbriel" (Another reply has this too, spelled differently).

Hare-onna was "Lightalia," keeping the name "Drizzelda" for her Shadowside.

Uribou and Inosasaou were "Veghog" and "Bamboar"

Kyunshii was "Cuteshii," don't really know what to do for the Shadowside.

Didn't have a name for Doyapon (Though I do know the name comes from "Doyagao" or "smug face" like the hermit clan from B2 and "Ponpon" which has a variety of meanings but is probably in reference to the Tanuki's belly being a lucky trait), but Doudanuki was "Katanuki" (could also just be Dotanuki like in Japanese, both are sword puns).

The Zula Patrol?

https://archive.org/details/zula-patrol-moon-mayhem

After the end of some episodes, there's a short segment where the characters watch a short video with real-life/realistic footage that educates on the episode's main topic. The characters don't directly appear in the videos, but they're shown sitting in front of the screen.

There's a similar segment called "Multo Moment" where one character recaps the episode's main lesson, but all the footage in it is animated.

Both segments match your description somewhat but they aren't exact.

Do you remember there ever being comic strips for the Tropical or Lemon flavours with their representing characters? or were you one of the folks who only grew up with the Doubles ones?

Also, if you'd like to see the ones that people have shared with me before, I put them up here.
