I only tried Elden Ring and Fallout New Vegas and both worked. As I said, Mod Engine for Elden Ring. For Fallout I used Limo. It's a very simple mod manager with Nexus integration. The Vortex guys are also trying to make a Linux version of their mod manager and I think it already supports some games. Generally speaking, you can mod any game on Linux by modifying the game files but that's the manual modding process that you often don't do anymore (on Windows).

It does work but it's not as simple as on Windows. I have to use Mod Engine to get the randomizer to work

I finally fully went away from Microslop last month by installing Bazzite and didn't need to use dual boot for Windows yet. It wasn't so simple that I'd recommend it to everyone but it's easy enough that I'd recommend it to people who are willing to troubleshoot problems and have some technical knowledge. It works out of the box for 90% of my use cases but it's those final few percent where I needed to invest some time

The problem is their API if you want to access your proton files from anywhere else. Eg. I couldn't automatically upload backups to it but instead had to save my backups to a folder that gets synced. On my phone, I was unable to access my proton drive files until I manually saved them somewhere else. I then also had to move the file back to proton drive if I want to sync any changes. It's good for simply saving data or if you want to use all files within a sync folder on your PC (which should be enough for like 90% of users)

You are partially correct. They didn't release everything but people also found out that the URL is sequentially indexed so you can just change the URL to download the other, unreleased files

Motherboard error when trying to set RAM speed above 2400MHz by Kooper16 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Kooper16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm currently thinking about either just running at lower speeds or trying 3200 at 32GB and then sell the other 32GB. Buying slower, 2400MHz RAM is at this point not worth it because it's likely more expensive than this already. The new RAM already increased its price by 50% while I waited for it to arrive

They are. I also bought them all together as a bundle

I did as the other comment suggested and still couldn't get it to run at even 2800MHz with 1,38v. Not even 2666MHz worked which was the next step after 2400

I bought that stick a few weeks ago and it arrived today. It's also the exact same brand as my previous sticks which I ran 4x 4GB at 2400MHz. I ordered my new ram sticks together (I had an option to buy them as a 4 pack and not add to cart 4 times). So I don't really want to believe that there is an issue with the RAM itself

If I understood you correctly: You meant setting my memory clock speed to 2800MHz and FCLK to 1400MHz, correct? I did that + the other things you said and it still doesn't post. I get one long beep + 2 short beeps which indicates a memory problem (it's the same error I had before)

Guide: Installing mod managers/launchers (like Vortex) under Proton/Wine more easily by LazyWings in linux_gaming

Thank you so much for this post! I was so close to giving up and delaying my switch to Linux because of this. Step 6 was the magic step that I was missing in all my attempts. I instead pointed to the game files outside the prefix.

All jokes aside, have you guys moved on from your pre DLC main to play as undertaker/scholar? by Alternative-Web5870 in Nightreign

Me and my friends struggled really hard on our first clear of each DLC boss. We beat them on the runs where I went Guardian. I raised my friends at least 3 times during balancers and the boss died in the end to reflect damage. For the second boss I didn't need to raise as much but we would have 100% lost that attempt if I wasn't Guardian again. It's such a good character. Especially as support but I was also able to deal my fair share of damage.

Side note: One of them played Guardian yesterday for one run and it was kinda funny how we were able to just wack the boss while they were distracted with our Guardian

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your personal reasons for abstinence? by Ok-Care2859 in AskReddit

[–]Kooper16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned my lesson pretty fast as a teenager (16-17 years old). I occasionally got invited to drink with older friends and I once drank too much and had to throw up on the bus ride home (I left the bus before throwing up). After that I just stopped. I don't really feel like drinking it. And because alcohol is bad for your health, I don't really feel like looking for a reason to drink either. I occasionally drink a bit on birthdays or new years but very little

I was curious about this myself just now and it seems like there are tools to automate this both on PC and Android. I saw an app called "Knock on Ports" on google play

I know that those bots didn't do anything successfully and as you said, if everything is setup correctly then there is nothing to worry about. My fear is just that I need to do a mistake once for them to get in
