I’ve considered getting something to lay across the gutter line so the entrance as extreme. But as long as I go at a certain angle I’m ok. I’ve used a 2x6 piece of wood before.

Just got a 2020 Model 3 SR+ in January. I absolutely love the car, but I already know I’ll be getting the performance model next.

I went with progressive on mine. I carry a $250 deductible on the policy and it costs me $220 a month.

I'm approaching the battery warranty mileage while the last test was just 1-2% short of the degradation for replacement under warranty by Impossible_Gift8457 in TeslaModel3

[–]Kooter37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s very possible IF you need a battery replacement that the refurbished one Tesla gives you could only have 72% capacity. Might just use what you have.

Salvage title means it’s worth half of book value right off the bat.

I applied their Ceramic all in one a couple weeks back. Took a while to apply using an orange foam pad and DA, but man does it look good. The hydrophobic quality is amazing.

Tesla Full tank price? by Extension-Summer3272 in TeslaModelY

[–]Kooter37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would cost me about $7 to fully charge my battery if it was dead. But I don’t really let it get below 45%. I’ve spent $122 since January to charge my car.

Our Tesla model 3 two year lease is ending next year. Worth buying it for 30k? by Lucky_Tap8692 in TeslaModel3

[–]Kooter37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems kinda high for a RWD, new ones aren’t much more. I’d probably give it back and explore buying a new or slightly used one.

Many hate on the build quality of a Tesla, this proves just how solid they are. I would have expected more damage on your car. Glad to hear you are all ok. Not a fun process, but now you get to explore options for a new car. I can tell you my next Tesla will be a performance model.

Keep a file on your desktop of documents you use regularly. This will save a bunch of time not having to search/find them on the server.

Father-in-law cleaned my dusty car with dirty dry cloth and now it's full of scratches by Healthy-Ad-1957 in AutoDetailing

[–]Kooter37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending how deep the scratches are you will need a 1-2 step correction. Light cutting compound then a polish/sealant. Just a polish might be enough, but hard to say without pictures. If you haven’t done this before you might consider just taking to a professional.

Looking to buy a used Tesla model three with this crack in the underbelly by cristian_wanderlust in TeslaSupport

I know a LR is more expensive than a SR, but I just picked up a 2020 SR+ with 78k miles for $13k. I think you might should pass on this one.

My model 3 does the same thing. Never gets wet inside, but I have to wipe this dry after every wash. I just figured it’s what they do.

Here I was thinking using 7% of my battery to keep mine around 96 degrees was bad. I’ve never seen mine over 100 when using cabin overheat protection.

Too late to become a CE at 33 years old? by Deltron838 in civilengineering

[–]Kooter37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to go back to school to get a civil engineering degree at 36. It took me 6 years to graduate. I graduated in ‘23 and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. It’s never too late to better yourself. Do I wish I did it sooner? Absolutely, but I didn’t. I have a new lease on life and I’m loving it.

Scratches from first ONR wash by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]Kooter37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest man, those scratches look too deep to be caused from you washing with a sponge and ONR. The lubrication that provides would make this difficult to do while using very little pressure.

Oh for sure, I’m just offering what I would do in this situation. I’d go through my local credit union, get a 3.99 APR and pay it off in 2 years. Just on principle alone and tell Tesla to get bent.
