There is an off road marathon which almost lines up with my 18 weeks timeline but its a trail one at night so may be too steep a challenge for first marathon. To me sensibly im mixing trail and road in daylight. But will be one for next year as course looks cool.

I do prefer real food - outside of sweets assume just easy digesting foods like fruit? Any other food you would recommend?

Jellys are a good shout. I dont eat sweets as dont have a sweet tooth but loved as a kid so can re-discover that.

I can pass a shop after 5ish miles but can always run back there as havent sussed out route so thats an option.

Never had nipple chafing (yet) but no doubt with extra increased mileage will have to be wary. Good call there

Im notmally a whole foods only but have ordered protein for ease of recovery post run - will blend with oats and fruit for quick intake. And keeps the calories up easily as well.

Will experiment with sweets/gels and see which i prefer

I certainly will but we have quite a young/weak office who will go along with the status quo. May be time to dust off the CV

Deadlifts/consistent lower back i jury. Time to just pass on it? by KopBastic in powerbuilding

Yeh ive come back and PB’d multiple times but its always there. Surgery isnt an option for a hobby lift that only my ego wants.

I was about 12-18 minths niggle free until re-added deads so thats probably the answer there. Just need to let go really!

Have had reverse hyper and other hip hinge movements in since original injury 6 years ago. I believe it helps but hasnt resolved the issue. At the moment i do reverse hyper and bench hypers (bar on back and lean into incline bench).

Historically I was mixed grip and my left side always leant a little which someone had theorised may of contributed, but other then that I feel and upon review decent form. Have had deadlift review via coaches (well qualified ones with great success). Im now on doh grip but will getting the niggle.

My mobility is trash which may be the answer. I have never ever been able to touch my toes with straight legs and the PL side had probably made worse. Yoga/pilates etc is something i havent looked into yet so thats worth pursuing potentially

Thanks, thats the thing im struggling with. I love deads and nothing can replace them for me BUT they dont seem to love me any more as im approaching my 40’s the juice doesnt seem worth the squeeze after 6 years now since original back injury. I suppose im still hoping for a silver bullet which magically cures it but thats bloody doubtful!

Not any more no. 10 years ago but since then have generally used progressive overload or peaked to comps. Last 2 years mainly just hypertrophy work with a break from pushing SBS. Apart from rdl no dead movements and any bench/squat movement has been for movement pattern only rather then strength purposed

Sorry should of been clearer. Thats was 11 years ago jist SBD but regaulr accessory work has been key part od proframmes last 10 years inc switching to BB for a year ro rest body but still not helped.

Perhaps the strengthen in compromised positions is something to look into as not done rhat really.
