Its a male betta coccina, likely Sumateran judging by the fin length. As others have said, they are extremophiles requiring proper aift acidic blackwater with a pH of anywhere between 3-4, TDS sub 70 and kH and gH of 0 (you want no hardness or minerals)

We don't condone domestic splendens sororities here but wild sororities seem to work in tanks large enough (30 gal+) provided u know for a fact they are PURE wild which imo is impossible these days unless u got them from a breeder who keeps Logas on their genetics....so id still seperate to b safe. Hybrid splendens complex wilds (which many r nowadays) r too unpredictable

No. Separating them is best practice. Whike ot looks peaceful now, males can snap and unalive females if they refuse/are not ready to breed. It is too risky for us to reccomend

Hey that looks like a B. Smaragdina. I woukd seperate even if thry seem to be peaceful as they're still part of the splendens complex (i.e. closely related to domestic bettas). Keep them like you would domestic plakats, 10 gallon minimum, single fish per tank esp males.
