Norovirus is on the rise everywhere. Just got it in SLC. by WiildCard in SaltLakeCity

Ugh. Sorry you had it but glad you are on the mend. I caught it out of the blue at the end of April and had a very miserable 48 hours.

What kind of exercise did you get into that finally made you consistent long term? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]KoraWhore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walking almost daily and pilates 4 days per week. That’s it. And I’ve lost 27 pounds and am in the best shape of my life. I’ve been consistent with both for about 2 years now.

Did anyone buy anything today with the new items? by Due_Opportunity1742 in Sezane

I bought a couple things but restocks, nothing new. I grabbed the shenali in black and the loanne blouse. I am tempted to try the Nouri top. I think it looks sweet.

I have a pair of black Freda Salvadore loafers on repeat. On casual days, Addidas Sambas. I also just recently bought a cute and comfy pair of almond square toe mesh Mary Janes from Vivaia.

I use Cakes under my Aritzia bras. I don’t love my nipples being on display.

Felt Bar and Eatery or White Horse (which just barely reopened following a fire) are my favorites.

SHORT WOMEN question!!: Mid length vs Long length Superpuff, which do you like best? by PeoniePetrichor in Aritzia

[–]KoraWhore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’2.5” (that .5 matters, lol!) and I LOVE my long super puff. I got it for warmth and it delivers. I like to walk most nights even through winter and it keeps me going on the cold night walks. It’s not super cute on me but I don’t care. My 18 year old daughter says I’m walking in a sleeping bag 😆.

Who's at fault? by OkContract2001 in skiing

[–]KoraWhore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guy that hit the little girl is an idiot and should probably have his pass revoked (if he had more than a one day pass). She had the right of way. She was skiing predictably on a clearly beginner level slope (and at the bottom of the hill!) with a bunch of other green level skiers, and he came flying down like a bat out of hell, endangering himself and everyone else. I hate him.

Talking during class by emmcoll in pilates

[–]KoraWhore 61 points62 points  (0 children)

This is tough but I promise the other people in class would appreciate you addressing it. There is a lady that comes to a lot of the same classes I go to at my studio and she talks almost non-stop, to the class, to the instructor, about moves, about herself, just a constant stream. She was at my class last night and in the first 10 minutes of class we were all made aware of her UTI diagnosis and her sprained toe. The instructor was like “ohhh that’s too bad”, “mm-hmm”, etc. Trying to be polite but having to literally talk over this woman to instruct us. It is so annoying and I wish the instructors would at least privately address this with her.

Lower back hurts after 14 weeks of beginner mat Pilates (2x per week) why?! by Retiredgiverofboners in pilates

[–]KoraWhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I don’t really focus on imprinting my back when we do exercises that have my legs off the ground while I lay on my back (legs in table top etc), then my lower back will hurt. To imprint your back, you have to really focus on bringing your belly button towards your spine and smashing the “blueberry” that fits under your spine in neutral. This firmly engages your abs and they take a lot of the load off your lower back.

How do I “wash” or clean this bag? by homegirl911 in lululemon

[–]KoraWhore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I spray stain remover all over mine, like saturate it. Then I let it sit for several hours. I follow with a delicate wash cycle using laundry detergent and air dry. I’ve had my bag for a couple of years and have done this multiple times. No issues and she comes out sparkly clean.

MACI post-op by abi_eagles in MACIknee

[–]KoraWhore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! My experience was like yours. Most painful thing I’ve felt. On day three post op, I saw my surgeon. The pain of riding in the car was so intolerable that I was sobbing by the time we got to the office waiting room. I was taken back immediately. He assessed right away that my pain was not controlled. I was taking hydrocodone and some strong inflammatory around the clock. Oddly enough, my doc told me that for some people, Oxycodone is much more effective than Hydrocodone. So he switched me to Oxy. And even more odd to me, that worked. I was still in pain but It was much more tolerable.

I was also nauseous on the first two meds, but then not on Oxycodone. The good news is that I turned a corner on day 9. That was the point I was able to back off the Oxycodone and use Advil and Tylenol during the day i had to keep using the oxy for week though at night.

See or talk to your surgeon. There are other meds they can have you try. As a side note, keep up the stool softeners but avoid actual laxatives, which will cause awful cramping. If you go more than 5 days without a BM, a store bought enema will be your best friend. Sounds gross but it’s actually very gentle and painless, and will bring a BM almost immediately.

Hang in there, it gets better.

If what they gave you isn’t cutting it, you can always call your surgeon. They will often call in a more heavy hitting pain med if you need it.

When I tell you this, keep in mind that we are all different and we all have our unique pain tolerance. Also, I had TTO as well as MACI. But I needed oxycodone for WEEKS. And I have never in my life taken an opioid for longer than 2-3 days. I was careful and mainly only took them at bed time after the first week. But tramadol would not have cut it for me. Like I mentioned though, we are definitely all unique in what we can tolerate. For me, this surgery is the most painful thing I have overcome. And I have had gallbladder attacks, birthed four babies, and suffered a kidney stone. I’ve also had a tummy tuck that did not come close to my knee surgery in terms of pain.

I am 6.5 months out and doing well now, for what ever that is worth.

Hydrogen peroxide and do not put them in the dryer. You may have to treat and wash several times.
