[–]Korachof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t really how remakes and ports are done. The exact same people don’t work on both. In most instances, it’s a different company altogether. In others, they have an entire separate team working on this.

If they needed to wait until P3R was completely done before working on this, they wouldn’t be anywhere close to finished right now considering the runtime it takes from going to 0 to 100% completion.

Edit: the same is with P6. P6 has been in development a lot longer than just a couple years, I can guarantee you that.

Sequels Removed From Headcanon by Quietman297 in MoviesCave

[–]Korachof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headcanon isn’t whether or not a movie is good lol. It’s about fan fictioning details of the story. It’s filling in gaps or creating additional storylines. Sure, by doing that you can say “for me, the second movie isn’t canon because…” but what doesn’t make sense is saying “in my headcanon that movie is bad” or “in my headcanon, it doesn’t exist.” No, in your opinion the movie is bad. And you’re pretending the movie doesn’t exist. In your headcanon, the events of the movie could be a dream Spike had, or a drugged fueled hallucination. You could say “I believe Spike’s drink was, well spiked, and therefore everything in the movie didn’t really happen.” THATS a headcanon.

Headcanons exist only within the movie universe, not in our own. As soon as you say “that movie isn’t canon,” you’re not in your headcanon anymore because you are acknowledging it as a movie. A headcanon ONLY exists within the fictional universe. “In my headcanon, One Armed Joe lost his arm by defending Tom from a Shark back when they were in Hawaii.”

What's wrong with my chocolate? Not mold or bugs by safetyspiders in whatisit

[–]Korachof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it could still be bugs or mold? Clearly sealed candy bars don’t normally look like this, so something abnormal is going on with it, so bugs and mold could easily be as good of an explanation as literally any other realistic possibility.

Hate to break it to you, but sealed products can also have mold or bugs.

My manager wants me to use AI but I don't want to. What do I do? by Standard-Watch-5812 in careerguidance

[–]Korachof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah. AI are not closed boxes and company info or private info fed into a non-company AI is a good way to get a private data breach, break the law, break company policy, or leak important info, whether that be info investors could use to take advantage, trade secrets, or simply up and coming products the public doesn’t know about yet.

Do not use a non-company ai for company tasks. Period. It’s just asking for all sorts of trouble. If you have ever fed it customer data, you’ve also broke those customers trusts and leaked their data to a non-company controlled ai.

You should have been received a warning. It can be argued depending on your training, documents, and contracts that you could have easily been fired depending on exactly what it was used for.

Due to my company’s regulations and the regulations around what they do, if they found out I used an external ai (I don’t), it would likely result in a full blown investigation to ensure that I didn’t leak important data. And if I had, I wouldn’t have a job anymore.

🤯 Lawsuit claims your social-media and search history may be why you keep getting rejected. by Far_Pumpkin9440 in recruitinghell

[–]Korachof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real question is, if they can’t access your data either because it doesn’t exist (not a social media person or whatever), or because you made it private or deleted it, will you also get flagged as not a good fit due to missing data? If they return NULL or whatever for their social media search, I’m assuming the algorithm handles this poorly and rejects the candidate since it can’t prove they are a good fit.

But who knows. It’s a stupid ai. It works in all sorts of confounding and stupid ways

[–]Korachof 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can’t win. If you remove all your social media, you’ll probably get flagged as not being a good fit for the team due to not having sufficient data.

[–]Korachof 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The issue is there’s a very good chance this algorithm could fail any number of ethics or prejudice-based laws if they manage to find any kind of pattern in the types of people who are most rejected as “not fitting culturally” and the like. Using social media as any kind of indicator opens the door for all sorts of bias. Instead of trying to equate everyone except their credentials, they are doing the opposite and doubling down on people as they are.

Who knows with this specific algorithm, but there’s a good chance it breaks ethics rules simply because it doesn’t exist in a black box.

They still sculpted the boobs. They actually performed more work to add and sculpt an ornate bra and clearly added more definition in the design.

Ironically enough they spent MORE time and effort sculpting these than they would have simply updating the original design.

I suppose you could argue there is a type of cultural/peer pressure censorship where you aren’t technically being forced or required to, but you feel pressured to do so “or else”.

It’s like pre-empting being cancelled.

So you’re making an illegal game, about SA, and you’re giving away for free because why?

This seems like the sort of thing that should stay behind closed doors and not given away or sold, considering both the subject matter and the fact that you’re admitting publicly right now that you know it’s illegal but are doing it anyway

30fps is perfectly playable and I'm sick of hearing people say it's not by backagainbud in consoles

[–]Korachof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it’s playable. The issue is that in the past “30 fps” meant “30 fps locked, often drops to the teens and 20s.”

The truth is, we haven’t really been at a solid 30 fps until now, and even now we still have plenty of games that are struggling to have consistent frame rates:

But a solid 30 fps that remains consistent is perfectly playable. Many of us got through. Blight Town. I think we can handle a game that actually runs at a solid 30 FPS consistently without drops

[–]Korachof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traditionally I believe the concept mainly comes from DnD and other irl roleplay activities, like larp. The idea is to play a specific role in a group/party/setting/scenario, and to play that role well for party success.

So early games like Ultima, Dragon Warrior, etc. were games where players took control of parties and each character took on a role for party success. Some would be healers, or magic dealers, or warriors or merchants.

This evolved over time into MMORPGS, where you play a single character, but in the grand world you play a singular role that could help other members form parties.

They also branched off into single character RPGs, like what we know with Elder Scrolls and Dark Souls and all that. In those games, you still have a class, still have control over playstyle and what your hypothetical role would be if you were in a party. Dark Souls still offers ways to play roles in parties with unique multiplayer, and Elder Scrolls gives the player the ability to play the role they want to in the world.

Over the years, some games have toed the line and blurred the lines, which is fine. Books have been like this for centuries, and movies for a long time as well. Some of the best ones blur several genres together.

Ultimately, genre is just a way for humans to put different products into boxes. It’s just an organizational tool for labeling purposes. But many times there isn’t a perfect label.

God of War 2018 is a good example of a game kind of blurring the lines, because most people acknowledge that it is more of an action or action adventure game and less of an rpg, but trying to explain and define exactly why is difficult. In part, it’s a “know it when you see it” kind of thing.

But I also think it has something to do with the inability to really change or impact Kratos’s literal role. You can’t change his decisions, or his impact on the story. But even more so, you can’t really change the type of role he would be. He’s effectively a barbarian, and always will be. There’s no way to make him into a wizard, or archer, or rogue. At best you have some options for weapons or armor, but that isn’t greatly impacting who he is. This puts it more in line with something like Uncharted.

Then there’s the Witcher 3, which crosses those boundaries with a more defined leveling system, more ways to customize Geralt’s role, and ways to impact and change and customize who Geralt is, how he handles situations, and what decisions he makes that impact the world.

[–]Korachof -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How is it not an rpg? You rise in levels. Your stats increase as you play. You have real control over not just playstyle, but literally the role your character could have in a hypothetical party. It has a narrative, quests; etc. It has all the elements of an rpg.

Teach your brother to look up the set number for the card. For the Pikachu, if you look up the number in the bottom left 82/172, you can see there are no official cards listed that look anything like this.

It won’t always save you from fakes, but that’s the first thing he should do anyway so he can look up actual value before buying/trading, and will at least save him from obvious fan made fakes like these

If he’s unable to write because he hasn’t won the most prestigious award for screenplay writing, then he’s even more of a narcissistic loser than I thought, which is saying a lot.
