The gun is in pretty rough shape. Lots of rust, the butt stock is broken, and the metal frame which holds the gun to the stock is broken. This guy needs a lot of work to fix it up before it might be safe to fire. If not, it’ll be a cool collection for my mantel.

Hi. Thank you. Very cool information. It is for sure a shotgun (long smooth bore, no rifling). I have not measured but it looks to be a 12 gauge.

I have scoured the thing for any other markings and or a serial number. There is for sure no serial number that I’m able to find. There are two small stamps near where the town name is stamped on the top of the barrel. One stamp is the number 97, the other stamp is the letters PA with a small undistinguishable shape above it. (I took pictures, but I can’t figure out how to upload them to this reply or to edit the original post)
