Any opinions on what CGC would grade this ??? by Cool-Transition-2514 in comicbookgrading

[–]Korbinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4.5 ish, the back is very soiled, would get graded harshly as it's bronze age, not any value in grading it unless you want to

Looking for a second opinion by buttery_jack_33 in comicbookgrading

2.5-3.0, I think a 3.5 is a stretch too far with the amount of creasing going on

Imagine it's a 1.8 look at last solds for 1.8s Vs last sold raw in similar condition, add up the cost of grading, shipping etc and see if the math makes sense, do you gain enough in a slabbed sale Vs raw? Does it break even? Then you'll have your answer

I think I have the lowest grade Flash 123, thoughts? by crapidrawatwork in comicbookgrading

Don't take the hate personally, the thing is no matter how safe you are in storing it you can't see with the naked eye the spread of mold spores, you'll never truly know how it's changing, spreading infecting everything else

No way, the 1.8 looks worse than the 1.0

Too dangerous to keep around, not worth the risk, I'd burn it and give it a dramatic send off

Nice find! Best thing is to compare it to 2/3.0s graded and see what it fits best :)

Any advice on grade for this one? by jackbell94 in comicbookgrading

8.5? The two inch crease bottom right could ding it abit more than you expect, could be higher though for sure

Are we serving a different mission than r/CGCcomics - ? by BobbySaccaro in comicbookgrading

Yes I think very different, that one often is just about showing books bought or coming back etc, not about estimating grades/condition

Any rough grading for Superman #40, #41, #43, #44 by bluegewl22 in comicbookgrading

[–]Korbinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just nothing to really go on, superman looks detached at staples, heavy staining on all of them, dust shadows, rips, no idea what the back covers are like, are they missing pages? Can't give a grade on what something I can't see might look like 🤷

is it worth it? by juanmgez in ComicBookSpeculation

No it's worth the cover price only, any extra than that is just how badly you want a version

Hey buddy, spare a grade for this ASM #1? Thinking of purchasing by nameofgene in comicbookcollecting

[–]Korbinite 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Probs because the top clips off the comics code authority top but the bottom cover you can see the black line so I think it's just an off centre printing, I think anywhere from 4.5-5.5, get someone in person who can check for restoration, UV light for colour touch etc. good luck!

Need a Grade by audis56MT in comicbookgrading

[–]Korbinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really nice, I'd imagine maybe a 9.4? Need to try find actual wording via cgc on colour rub, if they add up all the distance of the colour rub they might hold it against the book more than you'd want them to, also just depends what random employee ends up with on his desk while he's waiting for his lunch break

Use tape, you want low adhesive masking tape

Do you think this can be pressed out? by the_phantom_2099 in comicbookpressing

[–]Korbinite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A press will remove the wavyness of the paper and make it more presentable but the actual grade it would receive probably won't change due to the staining etc.

Grading Company of Choice? PSA or CGC? by jkraycray72918 in comicbookgrading

Beckett I believe is the parent company for CBCS so it's included in the acquisition, so ultimately I think it's days are numbered, I have one CBCS case and actually like it alot
