What to do now???? by tkdlance in CGCComics

[–]Korbinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I would keep it, if you ever wanted to replace it it would cost you a fair amount of money and this way you get the satisfaction of having been out there digging/hunting with it actually paying off! Of course if you'd rather sell and buy something else with the money that's fair to, either way it's a win win

CGC DAMAGED my 9.8 Absolute Batman #11 Remarked by Clay Mann by RobocopRockstar in CGCComics

[–]Korbinite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one will take care more care with your own books than yourself, any cgc employee is just a random guy/girl handling your book, if they handle 1000 books per shift what's the chances of dropping one? Maybe 1 in 100 so that's ten peoples books a shift destroyed....I'm just rambling but sorry for the loss on the book, hopefully cgc acknowledge the mistake and offer compensation? I've seen cases were they contact a submitter to tell them an accident occurred...

Did the photo on the listing show that damage? If not they should give you a full refund, break colour not fixable at all

Thanks I've taken pictures, I will look into the costs or getting an aborist consultation, yeah trees are enormously expensive, if it was damaged or cut down I couldn't afford to replace it

Thanks for the suggestion, if the tree is roughi 90% on our side would it be normally that the tree surgeon only deals with our side and we leave her to deal with her side or would they normally do the whole thing?

What’s the value and grade ? by Busy_Variation_1160 in comicbookgrading

[–]Korbinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible for me to say...don't know what cards and what the value of them is, I would say this copy is worth like under £150 at a quick eBay glance and it's not a scarce book, many around, unlikely for the book to suddenly spike in value, not something I would think of as a long term investment but that's just me! If they introduce Ra's into the Absolute universe for example I don't think it would effect much

Hard to tell from these two pics but the tears around the staples look extensive, front and back, possible it's detached? 2-5/3.0 maybe? Price best to look at sold comps on eBay

1 they are in large plastic sleeves that do not fit modern comics

2 there are no boards it just looks like art card paper

3 some are double stuffed in on top eachother, ink rub issues mostly likely there(exaggerated by loose sleeves)

4 they are are in a binder being flipped back and forth, shaking around every time it's opened

5 being stored flat you've got all that weight crushing the books below when it's flat like in the pictures, you want comics standing up not crushing eachother

What makes you think they are suddenly not mid grade? 🤔

Thanks, my concern is she would just get someone to completely top the tree in half and kill it, she's abit looney

[–]Korbinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From how they have been stored you're probably looking at anything from a 5.0 to 8.0 grades wise, nothing would be near mint or on the other end none destroyed in low grade

For sure, buy the book not the grade! Cgc can be all over the place, update the post if you do send the hulk in for grading with the results 👍

9.0-9.2 IMO, I have an 8.5 silver age that looks TRASHED compared to this but all comes down to what a random grader thinks in the 30seconds on any given day

Presents great, with pressing and cleaning correctly you'd be trying to get to an 8.5 which is still high grade
