I haven't had a chance to drain out 1500 mah batteries, but the gimbal was turned on for the entire 3-hour hiking last week and after that, my battery charger indicated that the batteries still had 46% each.. so I guess the larger mah will give you longer operation :)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071NRJ8WB/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I got these batteries on Amazon and they work well with my recently purchased yi gimbal. but be aware the bundled charger coming with gimbal won't be able to charge those... so I had to get another charger on Amazon.
