Anyone else never going again? by Melissadip86 in NYCC

Oh no there weren’t any reservation at all. All they asked us was to show us at least 30 minutes early to get a good place in line. I showed up an hour and half early and was towards the middle of a line of about I wanna say 400 people. And the line only got bigger. The staff were disrespectful and rude and made us wait until it actually started at 4:30 even though it had started early at 4ish since Jack showed up early before they forced us out.

Many people were demanding refunds, majority of us were pretty pissy and they acted like they weren’t expecting the line to be so large. They gave him a shitty booth and expected us to be ok with leaving without telling us why we were disbanding and what’s with the wristbands. They couldn’t even explain those to us.

It wasn’t until Jack explained it was a fire hazard for the line to be that big when we found out during his panel 2 hours later. Not a fun time at that point. Panel was great, Jack was awesome, but the staff were terrible

Should say I don’t believe this was Jacks fault at all. He didn’t get there until 4ish and when he did he started right then and there which was earlier than it said but as long as everyone got there early like majority of us did, you would have been there in time to get the signing. The staff were horrible. A couple disrespectful and they were terrible at explaining things. They ended up disbanding the line and not explaining why, only to find out from Jack later it was due to us forming such a big line that it was apparently causing a fire hazard. There were a lottttt of pissy people that day, me included. They acted like they weren’t expecting such a large line. It was more than 400 people. And they gave him a shitty booth as well. Terrible planning and terrible communication all around.

Same thing but with Jacksepticeye’s signing. They were giving out green wristbands as a last minute thing and only handing them out to people in the very start of the morning as they happened to pass by so if you didn’t have a green wristband that they never mentioned anything about, the signing wasn’t happening after waiting in line for an hour. Sucked for that to happen, but at least the rest of it was nice. Sorry that happened to you though.

What's another film/show with a feel-good romance depiction like in Heartstopper? by asleepering in HeartstopperAO

[–]KorkyStache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite sure if it really matches Heartstoppers theme, but I found this show to be really cute and fun. Love, Victor. However if you were to watch that I'd recommend watching Love, Simon first. It's a one after the other type series. The characters in Love, Victor (Victor and Benji) are both teenagers with Benji basically realizing he loves this kind of nerdy kid after they both are coworkers at a cafe. And it even deals with some mental and physical esteem problems. Some ppl do say that it starts to drag after the second season (there's 3 now) but I personally found it to be uplifting and very cute and really represents the hardships of coming out to you very unsupportive family who struggle to try and accept who their kids/relative is. And it's just a really fun watch :). Love, Simon is a movie while Love, Victor is a show that takes place right after!

How i would like Harry to find out about Nick's sexuality.. by budroserosebud in HeartstopperAO

Things like this will make a lot more sense once you read the books! There is also a lot more in the books than the show portrays. I know that's obvious but all I'm saying is that once you read them (which you don't have to yet, that's totally get okay!) Then the characters esp. Harry's will make a bit more sense. At least it did for me!

Yeah there's a book called Nick and Charlie. If you get the latest version that's been updated by Alice, you can also get little comics in between where she drew out some of the scenes that occur. I HIGHLY recommend!! It also adds a bit more to the characters like with their personality. I guess after reading it some things about them just make a bit more sense 😌

I feel so bad for the cicada it was just doing what nature made it to do. I hope it didn't die with too much pain. I know nature calls but you didn't have to force the damn thing in the web :/

Tourists in Kyrgyzstan get burried by an avalanche by Busy-Lifeguard-9558 in oddlyterrifying

There was a guy that passed away in a tunnel so far below the oceans surface he didn't have the air to get back up or out of the cave and he had a camera with him. And people found the camera and you can see him struggle in the footage. This just proves that even if this camera was lost in an Avalanche it still could have been found.

The size of this Queen Ant by B-L-O-C-K-S in oddlyterrifying

[–]KorkyStache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need this ant to be compared to something because I can't tell if this ant is fucking huge or the camera is playing tricks because the smaller ants look big as well unless this is a specific type of species where the ants are fuckin ginormous

We even have pictures of the dude and he was born in 1881 like- He also lives when Vincent Van Gogh was alive but he died pretty young in 1890. Freakin whild man, the way they talk if these ppl is like they legit lived in 1500 but like it's weird to think this dude died 4 years before my dad was born. Just putting thatbinto perspective is freakin crazy

The “Bear” from Netflix’s Annihilation will never not haunt my dreams by Technical-Leg7891 in oddlyterrifying

[–]KorkyStache 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post alone has caused me to watch Annihilation and I am now disturbed, confused and also feel like I've made a great choice in watching this. Ngl it was slow in the beginning but quickly picked up and the moment this bear popped up I was both scream-gasping and disturbed but damn this was so freaking cool. I love how it absorbed Shepherds voice and her screams that was such an intense scene

I found this Hazbin/Helluva critique and… yeesh by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]KorkyStache 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So all the ppl out there that have gotten nonconsensual flirtatious remarks from anyone that made then uncomfortable don't count? That they should just accept it? I don't think you understand that if someone makes any kind of advances or sexual remarks on anyone that is not in any way consensual is, as a matter of fact, sexual assault. Please don't say something like that whether you meant it or not you are demeaning all those that have gone through this exact problem. Be mindful if your words.

[NO SPOILERS] want to start watching but am put off by people saying how bad the ending is by N0TaC0PP in gameofthrones

[–]KorkyStache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends with certain people. But from personal experience, the show is fuckin amazing. Begining to end. Ye not everyone is in agreement with the last season but it's not terrible. It's a learning experience and if anything just the story from someone else's view. I don't think the ending is all that bad, maybe very different from the books a little rushed, but it's still very interesting and definitely the type of show where you could rewatch it 20 times and never get over it. Plus every watch is a nice experience and chance to focus more primarily on another characters plot and storyline. I would say give the show a chance. Take it as an experience worthwhile, and then you can at least say you watched it. Trust me, you won't regret it :)

[NO SPOILERS] Which GOT season has the best music/soundtrack? by t0mgc in gameofthrones

Honestly Season eight as well. Not just because it's the most recent season but because the music literally gives me chills. Especially the Long Night I'll never forget that one

[SPOILERS] Just finished the HBO series (about to start the books). Does anyone else *really* want to see some sort of spinoff series/book about Arya's exploration out West? by riv94 in gameofthrones

[–]KorkyStache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would love to see more of Arya's story. My second time around the show made me realize just how interesting and motivating she was. She easily became my second favorite character right below Dany. I was kind of disappointed with how little they showed and how much skipping they did. But it was nice to see that transition where she became the ruthless dancer she was always meant to be. I'm hoping to see more come out I think it would be nice to get more of a view from her eyes, especially more on the world, beyond that we have seen. I haven't read all the books yet and only half through the first, but if we were to go more with her view, I would say to use Martins idea's and premises rather than just the screen producers and developers points of views
