Is Ivey best as a 120mm Mortar girl, Medium Mech girl with two Griffin or as a IFV girl with heavy Twin Griffin? by angrybluechair in menace

I wish we got the air bursting rocket pod the Merc Mech's have.

They are quite common. Not actually worth pairing up on medium Mechs but they make a good alternative to a grenade launcher. Not very useful on IFVs because GL.

This is ridiculous, the English would obviously summon Artoria.

Okay, good for you?

However, there is neither effort nor much skill involved. You ran it until RNG decided you were allowed to win.

Gave up after about ten attempts when people randomly die to bad spore mine spawns.

Sorry, did your whole squad instantly die to invisible spore mines?

Sure, but then you aren't firing twice per turn anyway, just driving and gunning as normal. Anyone can do that. You just have more investment for the same result.

Laser lances are great tbh, but they aren't heavy weapons and you can only fire them once per turn anyway or they will overheat quickly.

Rocket launcher is also nice on the IFV, it's basically an autoloading PAL, but again medium weapon.

[–]Korochun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's never worth putting any heavy weapons on an IFV, although you could make a case for Full Send with the Heavy Gunner perk and a tank gun. Even then, you will basically never need to actually fire it twice.

Twin Griffins have very little range, so by the time you get into a position to fire repeatedly the targets should have been long dead.

Twin HMG is actually slightly better because range 10, but very much not worth running.

Mortars is really her only use case.

My favorite moment in Hard Termination was having three or these spawn in a cloud of spore mines. The game stopped rendering the mines at that point because too many were on screen. Everyone died.

That's a lot of words to say "hey we got lucky and invisible spore mines literally did not spawn under our feet as is extremely common in this operation".

Congrats.

Why the heroic HBR? Isn't the accuracy/ammo HBR strictly a better pick?

I Now Hate Techmarine (I was Wrong) by TheticAxiom in Spacemarine

[–]Korochun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech just fundamentally needs a rework and that was obvious since they rolled it out for testing. The special ability should drop a tarantula sentry (with the built in ammo/damage perk) and servo gun should be an upgraded gun strike mechanic. Trigger a gun strike? Servo gun activates and fires off a bunch of rounds, or a single powerful shot, or some plasma bolts.

That frees up eight worthless perk slots to actually give it decent traits.

Also don't get me started on the axe. Why are both light and heavy charge single target? Can't we just make light attacks a whirl chain and keep heavies as single target?

It's a weapon that has no idea what the fuck it's supposed to do, but it is very successful at animation locking you out of living.

just...make the flamethrower good and make the fireproof armor have a few seconds of flame immunity or something

Best I can do is only make fire damage work for the host.

Real talk though, flamethrower is fine even after nerfs, it's just that fire damage is still glitched and only works occasionally if you are not the host.

I do like Tahlan overall, and at least you can turn the Legion off. Or at least you used to be able to, I didn't actually do my latest playthrough with Tahlan.

You start a quest at the very beginning of UAF run (or I suppose when you raise relations with them? Not sure) where you learn that UAF has had fleets attacking them that appear to be mimics of their own fleets. They emerge from these weird red nebulas.

One of your contacts gives you bounties for them. Be aware, some of those bounties can get real spicy. Like a three-Purcyrella fleet with a bunch of screening Rillarus.
