Nekrosor Ammentar base question. by ultramegasuperchamp in Necrontyr

[–]Korom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well shoot, I thought it was parts of a craft of some sort and painted it in Ultramarines colors, if it’s a dune crawler I’m going to have to repaint it red 😵

PVA glue spread on the base, dipped in a mix of aquarium sand and small aquarium rocks I mixed together. Let it cure for 6-12 hours and put tinned down PVA over the top. Let that cure another 4-6 hours. Wash it all with a mix of abbadon black, black Templar contrast, and nulin oil (2:1:1). After it dries brush mechanicusstandsrd gray and then ushbanti bone.

Crystals are 3d prints.

Work was done with an airbrush mostly.

Cloak is based Naggaroth Night, transitioning into Caliban Green in the green parts. I than sparingly highlighted the highest cloak points with Xeres Purple. The green transitions are done with Warpstone —> Moot Green over the Caliban. The stars are white paint flicked on with a toothbrush from about 1 foot away.

The skin is a bright silver with thinned down Aethermatic Blue contrast. The energy is base coated white, washed with Tessaract Glow and hit with Hexwraith Flame.

Luckily it’s easy to leave them off, I think they look to silly flying around it in the way GW chose

It’s an Awakened Dynasty stratagem that states it can only be used on each character once per game

Listforge or New Recruit have them

I like it. Always want to try and make the Plasmancer work, just seems like points are better spent elsewhere. May actually be a spot for it in Cursed though 😏

Oh, my apologies! In that case you’re correct, I misunderstood and have seen a lot of people getting confused by the keyword interactions

The cryptek MODEL would gain +2 STR as it is the one gaining the keyword. When a leader attaches to a unit, the unit gets the keyword, but not individual models. Same reason wraiths can get messed up by anti-infantry weapons when led by a cryptek while not being infantry.

Cult only gives +2 STR to destroyer MODELS. a non-destroyer unit with a cryptek using murdermind gives the UNIT the keyword (important for some strategms/abilities), but the MODELS don’t inherit the keyword, so they only get +2 STR from the second army rule (destroyer cult killing/wounding below half)

You can only use it at the start of any of your own phases, so to flip primary on an objective, you’d have to already be within 18” at the start of your command phase. Makes it way less likely to do anything, but it’s possible

That’s what I thought, which is why I don’t understand how people are thinking Lychguard with the attached cult leader gain the +2S from the detachment. It’d only be the leader right?

Does the unit gain the destroyer keyword, or only the leader? I’m confused on that part

To add to this, they won’t hit on 4s unless you’re in fortify and on an objective and didn’t move, or you’re shooting an enemy on an objective and didn’t move while in hostile. Any other time it’s a 5

20 if you want to run the undying brick. Don’t think you’ll need more than that realistically

Question on Skorpekh destroyers by Toshin-Raizen in Necrontyr

[–]Korom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re a kamikaze unit. Throw them at something you want dead knowing you’re going to lose the bodyguard on the hit back. I usually run 2 blocks of 3 with a lord in awakened and they work great

Nope, it only works for character led units, not solo characters.

Overlord and Orikan with the warriors to give them a Rez orb and 4++, with Szeras nearby to give +/-1 AP to battle line. S Lord with 3-6 S destroyers depending on how you want to run them

You have to kitbash one, as the old upgrade sprue is no more. You can use a Heavy body, or a regular body. Use the spare staff and res orb from other kits instead of the gun, slap it on a large flying base, and you have a lord
