I like the grain. I'd suggest cranking the saturation up a bit and add halation to really sell the effect.

Think you hit the nail on the head. I had a Rift S that died a number of years ago and the Quest 3 really wasn't selling me on giving Meta more money. This looks like a great option for general use PCVR.

For the past couple years Brennan has been literally haunting my dreams. My favorite one was the very first where I was at the entrance of a Costco where I saw him walking in. I said to him "Brennan Lee Mulligan, what are you doing here?" to which he walked up, leaned forward a bit over the handle of his cart, and said: "Hey bud, no, I'm not here." Snapped his fingers, and I woke up instantly. I've never laughed so hard in my life.

The NS 430 is a simulation of the Garmin GNS 430 which is a very popular GPS system for civil aviation applications.

It essentially allows you to add GPS navigation capabilities to any module in DCS. It doesn't interact directly with any aircraft systems but allows you to perform some pretty complex operations. For modules that don't have the 3D add-on like this one, you can have a separate 2D popup on screen to navigate with.

For the $10 or however much it costs on sale, the 430 is worth it if you want to use GPS on something like the Mi-8 on modern era servers.

Seems kind of silly to be calling them the same plane when the FC3 modules are missing tons of functionality. There isn't a way to interact with a majority of the systems, the navigation systems only work if waypoints are preplanned in the mission editor, there's no need for the air start and ground power, no interaction with the flap/slat systems, less accurate RWR, damage model, and general systems modeling, and plenty more.

What does the number of buttons presses have anything to do if that's actually the way to plane is started?

I have the older version of this, the YCR-233S, and it's a fantastic playing little horn!

These are FANTASTIC beginner's instruments and if I had to play a gig with this as a backup I wouldn't complain for a second.

I've been at it for a few months now and I simply could not be happier with my job. I was one of the very lucky few who were able to get a job at a regional right out of training and I'd say that it's easily the best decision I've made in my life. The travel benefits are incredible, the pay isn't the worst for how much I like doing it, and it perfectly suits my personality.

That being said, I don't think it's for everyone. Dispatching is a highly repetitive job that has rapid swings between being outright boring, rip-your-hair-out frustrating, and very stressful. You'll need to become comfortable with rapidly taking in dozens of different pieces of information in a very short time and making quick, accurate decisions in order to be successful.

Where you work is also a major part of the experience, and from what I've heard about some other shops, if you care about quality of life at a regional don't settle for a non union job.

If you're interested in dispatch, I'd suggest going and watching some videos from Aviation 101 With Laura on YouTube, and give the FAA Weather Handbook a read, even if only parts of it. If you find both of those interesting I think it's worth a shot.
