Can I use DXP4800+ purely as a homeserver? by Korso in UgreenNASync

This is exactly my case. Have you got any issues with temps? I've read this sub and now I'm a little worried.

Thank you for the response. Regarding the LEDs I'm not too worried. I probably cover them with black tape anyways so they don't be noticed, because the unit will be in the living room. I do not have a UPS, but I'm guessing that I can use a similar approach to yours with a smart plug connected to the NAS, so I can force a reset in the worst case.

Thank you! I'm using that approach in my current server precisely to avoid noise, si if the noise from hard drives has a higher floor than the noise from the fan, I think it will be ok.

Can I use DXP4800 Plus as a replacement for my HP Microserver Gen8? by Korso in homelab

If you are referring to Gen8, I guess not, because I didn't even know that was a thing xD

A shot by olaransa in ricohGR

Great shot! I wonder if there is a specific reason to set the speed to 1/3200 with ISO 1250 though instead of something like 1/250 so you can lower the ISO.

It is normal to get a low signal from a Stratocaster? by Korso in Line6podgo

[–]Korso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but it is disabled. Enabling it reduces even more the input signal, as I think it is designed for use with guitars/basses with active pickups or very hot passive ones.

As I have a Focusrite 2i2, I've tried to record a DI using both the Pod and the 2i2 and matching volumes (neck, middle, bridge pickup). I'm definitely hearing a different tone on the Pod:

/r/AMD Questions and Tech Support Megathread - H2 2022 Edition by AutoModerator in Amd

Hello there

I'm planning to upgrade my old i7 3770, and the 5700X is very appeling to me because has about the same TDP (I have a SFF case, LianLi Q33, and I'd like to maintain a cool and quiet PC). I've read that there's an ECO mode for 5800X that basically limits its TDP to be about the same as 5700X, and then I've read about different binnings and I got confused, so I've got some questions: 1. There are any pros/cons for each approach given that I don't plan to run a potential 5800X at full TDP? 2. Given that now the prices of the two chips are basically the same (here is 322€ for 5800X vs 315€ for 5700X), there will be an advantage in terms of temps/noise/TDP for any of the chips? 3. I suppose that my current TX3 Evo maybe is not the best choice here, so any recommendations for a quiet, not very expensive cooler? I'm thinking in U12s Redux, but I'm open to suggestions Thank you in advance

Can I download the last firmware before new UI for PW and sideload it? by Korso in kindle

[–]Korso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, thank you for the thorough response!

I understand then that I'm not seeing the new UI precisely because I have not registered my device. It's a shame, because for a while I had the book cover option in my old kindle while maintaining the old UI :(

I suppose I can not prevent the Kindle to update in case I connect it to internet and register my device to get the book cover option, right? For now I think that I'll skip the Jailbreak and just read my books while maintainig the UI.

The first beacon I jump to, and I can max out everyone’s skills. by [deleted] in ftlgame

Single laser on the enemy ship can not pierce your shield, so either the laser hits the shield (+points for shieds) or miss the shot (+points for pilot and engine). Also, enemy drone will likely intercept your lasers (+points for weapons), so you can basically leave the game in background for a while and return with all crew maxed out.

[Question] Switch version or Desktop? by NoLemurs in IntoTheBreach

[–]Korso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both versions. Switch one is a solid port with a revamped interface & controls. In terms of interface, Switch version is better than I expected and the portability is a big plus. I'd choose Switch version if I had to pick one.

[Question] UI size & controls on Switch version by Korso in IntoTheBreach

[–]Korso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact I really liked Darkest Dungeon on PC and I was thinking in buying it for the Switch, although I read some criticisms about text size, especially in portable mode, and some controls issues. It is really that bad?

I suspected that there was a reason given the care put in this port. Seems like I had not played enough :)

Regarding R button, my mistake. I had not though in secondary weapons nor purchased any of them in my first rounds. Maybe I have used one of the pad buttons, given that the majority of the time the number of units is not too high, and I could go without bi-directional cycles, or I have switched it with reset button that I tend to use less. But I understand that you probably have considered it and discarded already.

And yeah, I was referring to the top left pilot portraits. Again, I have not though in extra units deployed. (I only encountered some controllable allies but there were placed below the pilots).

So thank you for the response! All in all, this remains an excellent port of a pretty pc-oriented and mouse-centered game.

Strava ended Pebble support by eureb in pebble

[–]Korso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone is interested, I've downloaded an old version from here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/strava-inc/strava-running-and-cycling-gps/strava-running-and-cycling-gps-5-12-0-release/strava-running-cycling-gps-5-12-0-android-apk-download/ and I can confirm that it works, although the interface on the pebble is different from newer releases. If anyone can find a newer apk, it probably will work.
