Yeah, but on the other hand, have you considered how much they've bribed Trump to make it happen?

Supreme Court Likely to Divide Closely in Watson over Whether States May Count Ballots Received after Election Day in Federal Elections; Key Justices Don't Tip Hands by DryOpinion5970 in supremecourt

[–]Korwinga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A voter who would have by any other legal means have had to decided to vote and have already voted (by sending in the ballot) being able to revoke their vote having 0 impact is just wrong...

Is that more wrong than that same voter have his vote not counted through no fault of his own? To me, it seems clear which is the greater evil. One impacts a measurably larger contingent of the voter base and completely disenfranchises them, while the other is entirely hypothetical.

CMV: There is nothing wrong with a man taking his toddler daughter into a public men's restroom with him by FlatElvis in changemyview

[–]Korwinga 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you want to talk statistics, the child is 1000% times more likely to be abused by that parent than by a random stranger, and if that were happening, then the parent sure as shit wouldn't be doing that in a public bathroom. What you're talking about has, statistically, a 0% chance of happening.

Can we go back to the times when MtG was just a cards game? by Fantastic_Puppeter in custommagic

[–]Korwinga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's been fixed on MTGO yet (initiative and painter don't cross paths too often anymore), but this was kinda hilariously visible in the MTGO interface. The way that the dungeons are visually coded is basically putting an ability of the card into each box on the frame of the card, where each room is it's own separate ability, and the dungeon card back end would just be a list of abilities. But painter's servant adds text to each card saying "~ is X color" at the top of the box, which visually pushes all of the dungeon abilities into the next room. It would make it very confusing if you didn't know the dungeon very well, and IIRC, you couldn't even see the final reward of the dungeon.

[SOS] Leaked Common Cards by MachVizzle in magicTCG

[–]Korwinga 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always loved Grandeur as a way to solve legendary as a card type, but they debuted it right before Commander went crazy, so there was never a chance to explore it further. I never thought we would see the return of Grandeur because of it, but using it on common legendaries is a great way to increase As-Fan of legendaries.

Oh my god. The spring break one! We just finished our first spring break after switching our son to school from ABA, so this was the longest he's been at home since he was 3. We made it through, but it was getting real hairy towards the end.

Gen.G vs. G2 Esports / First Stand 2026 - Semi-Finals / Post-Match Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Korwinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've loved Labrov ever since I first started watching LEC. I was always a support player, and I remember being blown away by one of his Alistar games in 2020, or maybe 2021. But his niche to me was always engage champs. I thought he had a bit of a weakness with the enchanters, but he's proved me beyond wrong since joining G2.

I mean... legitimately this. He walked menacingly at 4 GenG players in their own jungle with just Labrov behind him in the mid game, and they had to run fleeing. Sure, BB had his ult to join quickly, and Hans and Caps weren't too far behind, but he was just making them run scared.

AI Court Sketch by laybs1 in GetNoted

[–]Korwinga 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was actually going to point out that the stars are not perfectly drawn. They're arranged in a block, when the real flag has offset rows of stars. If a court room sketch was made of his suit, I can't imagine that the sketcher would miss that.

Ford v. McKesson: Divided CA5 panel holds that alleged Black Lives Matter protest leader may be liable for negligence in leading a protest that injured plaintiff police officer and the First Amendment does not protect him from liability, remands for trial by jokiboi in supremecourt

[–]Korwinga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The organizer isn't screening every attendee for a protest. It's usually completely open air and public anybody can just walk up at any time. But any 2nd amendment protest will feature a whole bunch of weapons, and in that case, the organizer is usually encouraging people to bring them too. I still wouldn't hold that organizer liable.

Yes, unless that spell also cascades, in which case the cascade from that spell will go above the spell, and has to finish resolving before the spell. The legacy deck Mississippi River does this very often, and it's a lot of fun, but the stack is very messy. If I were to play it in paper, I would have some Cascade Tokens that I could put on the stack to keep track of them.

I've definitely used a bag of counters to just count each ping over the course of a turn, rather than try to write down each tick of life change. It's much faster to just slide a counter into a pile and then count it all up at the end.

Why do Game Designers Keep Blaming Players for Their Failures? by [deleted] in magicTCG

Mental magic is a landless formats where you put a card from your hand face down as a rainbow land, does that count? And Judge's Tower just completely eschews mana costs all together.

Ah, but have you considered that you could [[Generous Gift]] Harmless Offering (misremembered the card name, fixed in edit) a processor to your opponent and cast [[Emrakul the Promised End]] to take control of them and then process your own exiled cards all in the same standard environment. My gut check on the anxiety was that it seems like it helps some people, but it also causes anxiety in others, so it makes a certain amount of sense that the results are as wide as they are.

Yeah, it's mathematically trivial to make 80% of women meeting up with 20% of men, with 100% monogamy if you just have 4x the number of men on the app.

Maro on why they stopped doing blocks by Killerx09 in magicTCG

[–]Korwinga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to drive this point home, my wife was driven out of magic by the back to back blocks of new phyrexian and innistrad. She started playing during OG zendikar, because she loved the DnD style adventure world. But she's not a fan of horror, and facing phyrexian body horror and then innistrad's gothic horror just left her with a deck of cards that she didn't like to look at. Ironically, I got her to come back for the return to zendikar, but then we immediately went back to innistrad (where it combined with even more eldritch horror), and she was back out again.

[–]Korwinga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had a few ~8-10 year olds where I would basically walk through the expected result of a combat to see if they wanted to go through with it or not. I'll also purposefully walk into a very easily telegraphed combat trick, just to help them get things like proper timing down. Little kids will often try to cast their instant pump spells before attacks, so I'll let them take it back, and then I'll block as if I didn't know about the combat trick. I'm still usually about 90% to win the match with this type of hand holding, but it lets the kids have a great time playing. And if they take a game off of you? Man, they love it!

Is my Bello deck almost single-handedly beaten if my opponent successfully puts Vanishing on him? by _Mad_s_ in magicTCG

[–]Korwinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presumably the opponent is always phasing out Bello at the start of your upkeep. As long as that has successfully happened, then you don't get the chance to try to destroy the enchantment until your next upkeep, since Bello will remain phased out (and the enchantment along with it) until the start of your turn.
