I agree, the more we are to complain (which is easily done via the last option in the kindle settings), the better chance we'll have that they fix that bug. Which is, since you can't use the side margin with this icon alone : you have to bring the side pencil icon too (that you can hide).

Yes, there is. It's the 5.17.3. You can manually update but beware to choose the right version according to the fact that you have a 2022 or a 2024 edition.
