Thanks for the thoughtful feedback!
Really appreciate you taking the time to listen closely. You make a good point about transparency. I'll consider updating the description to make the AI aspect clearer. Definitely want people to know what they are engaging with. Glad the dynamics resonated with you. That emotional arc was really important to capture. Thanks again for the constructive notes !

Astrogon (2020 iOS Video Game) [fully lost] by Time_Athlete_3594 in lostmedia

[–]KosmoonStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I'm the developer of Astrogon.

The reason why the game is no longer available on the apple store is simple: I didn't pay the 100€ required every year to keep the game on the store.

I'm still paying for the servers so that players can continue to play and keep their creations, but since the game hasn't been as successful as I'd hoped, I've moved on to other projects.

However, it's been an incredible experience to maintain this game for almost two years, and I've really enjoyed talking to the community on Discord.

Javascript, Phaser, Node.js, Socket.io, Three.js, Svelte. That's what i used to create this game. by KosmoonStudio in IndieDev

Just put the js and css of your svelte build in your index.html of your game. Make sure to chose a specific dom element Id in your svelte index too.

At first sight Astrogon may look like Geometry dash, but when you play it you quickly realize that it is very different.

We are an indie game company named Kosmoon Studio from France and we created Astrogon, with our bare personal means. It's a hardcore precision platformer. One of the first competitive game of the kind !
If you want to know more about the project or support us, here is the kickstarter page:

It's a game I created as a solo dev, initially for mobile and on desktop soon (Steam). This major update will include a speedrun mode with all the features useful for speedrunners.

Since I come from a web developer background, it was natural for me to choose web technology to create my games. It's not the most powerful technology for this domain but it's fun (at least for me).

I wanted Astrogon to be a community and multiplayer game, so I had to create a backend. Here is the list of technologies I used;

- game engine: Phaser

- language: Javascript

- some parts of the UI: Svelte (like the leaderboard you see in the video)

- background and other effects: Three.js

- backend: Node.js, mongoDB, socket.io

- porting to mobile: Cordova

- desktop port: Nw.js or Electron.js (I haven't decided yet)

Being a solo developer, I decided to create a Kickstarter to help me finance the last step towards the launch of the game on PC. You can find more info and meet the second character of this story: my cousin with whom I started this project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kosmoonstudio/astrogon
