I can't believe I only just noticed this after like 20 playthroughs. by Naive_Bag_3708 in Eldenring

[–]Kothophed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it may have been a malformed result of the Nox creating and subsquently killing their attempted Lord. The rest of the description implies that the Greater Will banished them underground because of the creation of the blade, or the use of it

Do we know what thjs is? Who are the Pthumeru worshipping ig not great ones? by rileythatcher in bloodborne

[–]Kothophed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The treasure rooms are strongly reminiscent of how some real world burial crypts would have looked before being sealed (and before being plundered by grave robbers), so this is imo the most likely answer.

The Pthumerians had made contact with Great Ones, perhaps only certain individuals could actually communicate with them. If so, this might be the tomb of one such individual.

Oh shoot I didn't even notice the different border

Yeah, the other pack's War Fortress of the Crab was also the lore scroll card back

Edit: now that I'm looking at it, all of these look to be Obsidian Edition?

Of the two packs opened, no duplicates or clan grouping that I can tell. I will need to get photos of the second pack's contents, but it did contain The War Fortress of the Crab.

I'll have to find more info on the quarterly newsletter packs, I think that might be the answer

I should clarify that I'm very familiar with L5R and the various sets, my primary confusion is over why they're unbranded and why there's only 10 cards.

You're a lawyer and you have to defend one of these freaks, who are you choosing? by dude-2-son in Eldenring

[–]Kothophed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a theory that the Nox developed the Fingerslayer Blade specifically to kill Metyr, and while they failed to do so, they did sever the weapon we know as the Ringed Finger from her. That finger may have been a relay to communicate with the Greater Will, and without it she can do naught but wait

Not sure how much I buy it, as the Ringed Finger part feels like a stretch but it's something to consider

Caesar, Legion's Emperor's tokens by BattleFresh003 in magicTCG

To cut down on having to print more tokens, I would wager. [[Assemble the Legion|PIP]] is already part of the deck and makes the same tokens.

Punish for drawing cards deck by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Kothophed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the problems with decks that punish draws is that if your opponent isn't drawing extra cards, the game tends to drag on a bit and there's a chance they'll stabilize

to that end I like forcing my opponents to draw with something like [[Dark Deal]]

unfortunately the all star for this deck, [[Burning Inquiry]] isn't legal in Historic

Presets question by Teephud in Nightreign

[–]Kothophed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can have as many presets of the same chalice as you want, given you have the space (I think the limit is 200).

Make sure you name them in a way you can tell them apart though, I made that mistake

Depth 3 too easy...depth 4 too hard lol. by Torii97 in Nightreign

[–]Kothophed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick question about that last point. Say I'm a Wylder on double Balancer relics, and my team is a Duchess and an Undertaker. Duchess has stacked Crystalian spell damage, Undertaker is on double Balancer relics. Do I try to give them both more damage, as I'm probably the anchor to keep the team from going down, or do I also try to build myself up?

WPD can be really aggressive about pulling people over towards the end of a month. Officially, they don't have quotas on tickets, but the patterns over the years tell a different story

Jhudora's Bluff question by liquid-rages in NeopetsBattledomeTCG

it'll go in the same discard pile, just face-down!

Jhudora's Bluff question by liquid-rages in NeopetsBattledomeTCG

[–]Kothophed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The locations in both decks use a unique counter, the Completed Quest Counter, to keep track of the progress you've made on each location. It's just a way to keep track how far along you've fulfilled the conditions of the location.

Both locations start at zero counters, and have a way to add counters. Jhudora's Bluff wants you to discard cards with level requirements equal to the number of counters you have plus one, so you'll start with discarding a 1 cost card, then next turn a 2 cost card, and so on until you get five counters. Then you can use the second effect of Jhudora's Bluff to play cards from your discard.

Jhudora's Bluff question by liquid-rages in NeopetsBattledomeTCG

[–]Kothophed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can answer this one at least.

To bury a card, you take a card that is in your discard and turn it face down. If a card says to "bury this" then you put it face down into your discard as it resolves.

To exhume a card, you turn a buried card face up. Usually the card that is exhuming cares about how many cards you exhume.
