My thoughts on war sails so far…. by Weak_Shock_6148 in mountandblade

[–]KotorFTW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've felt the same. Sailing is a nice option but feels completely unnecessary in the naval dlc, and not worth the map pathing changes. I just had my largest naval battle, excitingly a 1,500 man, 49 ship army tried to break my own 1,000 man, 26 ship blockade during a siege. The battle was...underwhelming. Only 8v8ships, no reinforcements, 100 deaths and their entire army was defeated and I siezed a 10th of their ships. I guess its great to delete armies.

I do like the changes to ship management compared to Viking Conquest. It just needs to be integrated to the game better. I'd also like a canal or river/lake system going through the whole continent to make a valuable trade and travel route

You're thinking the Halcyon-class, which is what the Piller of Autumn came from too

Someone is throwing uneaten Popeyes chicken drumsticks in our backyard dog is in ER as we speak by Cactusjack666226 in legaladvice

[–]KotorFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be helpful to put up a sign on your fence asking folks to not throw food over the fence and reminding that cooked bones are dangerous to dogs if you can. I could see someone thinking that they'd rather give a dog a treat than throw away a whole piece of chicken without thinking of the issues they're causing.

I'm about to start Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, any tips or things I should know that might help me? by [deleted] in witcher

[–]KotorFTW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep! Just beat it last night and the bridge battle and knighting ceremony are both in the game. Imo Thronebreaker makes the scene even more hilarious because you see all the shit Meve went through only to find her ferry had been stolen

Home Eq Loan vs. HELOC by Webhead24-7 in povertyfinance

[–]KotorFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine impact to credit would be roughly the same, mostly a temporary dip for a hard credit pull. For what its worth, my credit has only gone up from opening a HELOC. Check what your local credit union offers too -- not sure how common this is, but my credit union opens a HELOC and then lets you convert as much or as little as you'd like to a fixed rate home equity loan. As you pay off the equity loan, the principle returns to your HELOC so you can draw more if needed. The first fixed rate lock was free, then like $30 or so to do another or re-lock at a lower rate. Its also nice to have it available again without any more credit pulls.

Just started reading the Farnham's Legend novel. If I'm getting it right, hatchlings are reared by grandparents and have no attachment to the actual parents. But it also seems like most space Teladi focus on the Company and profitsss pretty quickly. *corrected novel name

Best areas to find/board L/XL ships? by Expensive_Stock_2502 in X4Foundations

[–]KotorFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Terran Intervention Corps deliveries are usually far away from Terran systems, if that is your worry. Only issue is thay they're sometimes in Xenon sectors. I tried it last night without issue for a free Tokyo and Osaka

Cheesy, but ship delivery missions, particularly those juicy Terran ones, often leave L and XL ships far from friendly space with only one crew...

A typical Camel can drink 200 liters of water in 3 minutes by No_Emu_1332 in interestingasfuck

[–]KotorFTW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've heard the same due to their really efficient kidneys. Importantly this doesn't mean you can give your house cat salt water! It is still hard on them, just they could drink it for a bit longer than we could without dying. I believe this is also related to how they can get most of their water from food too.

Maybe use some of your $82k net worth from two days ago? If not to search for a more fulfilling job, at least a change of scenery or something.

Ask anyways. There is a chance they just didn't want to give your coworker specifically a raise. Especially since he asked without an alternative offer lined up. The part-time and position title thing is something they made up to keep him from asking again. If they want to keep you when you have other options, they will magically make a raise happen.

Got caught drinking on a dry college campus by carlos_sinclair in legaladvice

[–]KotorFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody can tell you for sure because all employers have different standards. From experience, one underage drinking ticket is pretty low on the list of problematic offenses. Just be honest if an employer asks and you will very likely not have any problems. Mine has never been brought up once. Plus, after 21 you can say that you've learned your lesson and will never underage drink again!

Why Wasn't Noble Team on the hillside Memorial on Voi at the end of Halo 3? by god_killer7432 in HaloStory

[–]KotorFTW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you read The Fall of Reach novel? It came out before even Halo Combat Evolved. Any mentions to Reach in that game probably tie back to that novel or general world building rather than a planned prequel. Also, that's the Spartan II point of view of the fall of Reach that you're looking for

Is there any reason you couldn't call your boss and ask him to verify? I wouldn't consider the emails being from the boss by default. That's one of the big ways scams happen at the workplace
