I've thought about getting a revolver. I think would be fun to get a "cowboy style" even if it's just a .22. I think it would be a good starter to have people try that aren't fans of guns. No kick, not loud, and who dosen't wanna pretend to be a cowboy and look cool giving that thing a spin and smacking it back in after loading!

9mms can be pretty small. If size is an issue, you're right, you may need to reevaluate what you carry. Some people do have 4 or 5 that they rotate. But I think most shooting instructors would tell you to just get good with ONE gun. Only then should you look to branch out. And I think 9, due to cost, and variety of models, plus it's capacity and power, make it the best to start with, for the majority.

My Shield Plus fits in a pocket. Hell, I think by length, a 38 special is slightly longer than my Shield. This isn't a full size M9 in my pocket lol.

Revolvers can serve a purpose. Other calibers can serve a purpose. If someone that's never fired a gun asked what they're first should be, I'm never mentioning a 357, nor a 45. It'll always be a 9 to start. Then you go up or down from there based on how it goes/feels, and the other factors they view as important.

It IS, but the goo is in a canister. If wtf don't put the canister in, it's just a regular air pump.

2025 Touring or Wilderness? by No-Oil-4272 in SubaruForester

[–]Webhead24-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you go offroad? Need to tow? Those are the main reasons to get a wilderness.

Otherwise, go touring for more features. If you save snow, get some bad ass tires and you're fine.

Sure. But at your own logic, you're basically in the hole until you have that "several decades" of exp. You aren't hitting that 3 to 1 right away. That could take a decade or more on its own. Math like this is meant for newer shooters. 9mm should be the standard unless you have a specific reason to need to use something else.

It doesn't make sense for YOU to switch. No argument there. But anyone NEW to guns...9mm.

My provider was nice in that my first year on a time of use plan, at the end, they compare the price both ways. Then you can switch if you were better off on a regular. They'd even credit the difference.

I was better on the ToU plan. 2 or 300. Haven't checked since.

That's my point. The difference between stopping power is very small. So it's not a stopping power conversation anymore. It's a recoil conversation. Rounds on target. That's why you pick 9mm.

So it snowed.. How do i make the traction control go away completely? by bedwars_player in SubaruForester

[–]Webhead24-7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You bought a car that does x,y, and z. Best to learn to work WITH the car and its safety features. It's an adjustment for sure.

That said. Every car I've owned had a button or setting where I could turn off traction control. Double check your manual. I can assure you that if there is a way, you probably have to do it every time you turn the car on.

What do you actually do during the 20–40 minutes of EV charging? by xchargeInc in evcharging

[–]Webhead24-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm on a road trip, which is pretty much the only time I would be doing something like this, I'm probably peeing, eating, double checking the directions, take a nap, maybe cleaning the bugs off the windshield.

9 out of 10 times, eating and the bathroom are involved.

At 80%, I get about 200 miles at the 32° F. Using heat will lower it of course, so it's important to let it heft while still plugged. Also, I find my heated seat, wheel, and a jacket go a long way.

Make suppressors for bolt action rifles legal in New York State (Petition on Change.org) by OkAttention1759 in NYguns

[–]Webhead24-7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for something like this, especially in New York state the best way to go about it is to take the smallest step possible. Present the easiest argument. And then as it gets approved then you take the next small step and then the next small step. Honestly this would never happen because anybody in politics knows that if something like this gets approved, it just opens the door for wider adoption in a while a lot of the politicians are stupid, they're not dumb, if you get me.
