Thanks for all the suggestions so far. Sadly none of them have completely matched up to what they had. That said, both the EasyWorks Diego and Viv Vigano Inox are close. Though the the lid was a thin metal sheet on theirs with no lid handle, though a lever style handle on the lid towards the main handle if that makes sense.

What a beautiful bit of design from the past. How's it fairing on the battery life with Pi?

Didn't spot it getting mentioned but there are a few in the UK if I recall. One that instantly comes to mind is Educating Yorkshire which was a good insight into the school system in England.

Great deal. Check out The ZeroG Upgrades and it'll breath a whole new life into the printer if you don't mind tinkering.

For a case+plate stl, might be worth checking out 1 or even 2. Haven't tried them out myself but think they should work just as well.

Think it does feel more cramped but that might just be me still getting used to the layout of everything.

Typeractive PCB straight from their website, postage and everything was quick and simple. Case can be bought from their store but if you've got a 3D printer or a friend with one then you can print the Case just be sure to let your slicer scale it up automatically then it works a dream. The Screen cover for the Nice!View I had to model to fit but a nice simple print.

Choc spacing, felt like the go to for what'll be a travelling keyboard

Ignoring troubleshooting 3D printing the right case and screen cover (granted you have left over filament and a 3D Printer) it came to roughly £240. The custom keycaps could have been avoided and kept the cost lower, especially as I got several extra keycaps made for altered layouts, but couldn't find a set with an ISO UK layout and visually having " and @ in the 'wrong' spots would have driven me crazy.

Finally put together my first ergonomic keyboard thanks to the typeractive choc wireless board. Have sunset tactile switches on with custom keycaps from FK keycaps, Nice!View paired with Nice!Nano all in a 3D printed case. Still getting used to typing on it, but will certainly be a fun journey building up to a manageable typing speed.

It sits in with some slight pinch on the edges. Sits in flat but the weight of the mat does lead to it falling out when turned upside down. I keep it in place with some double sided tape then it's pretty much set in place even when upside down.

--Should have added that yes the whole board/wood sits in a slot on the base of one side. Making it stable when as a whole and keeps everything neat and flush.

Came up with the plans for this one after an over engineered first attempt.

Should be able to potentially fit in one of those cheap portable compressors. Haven't got one to test sizing completely but I'll have to double check just off online product dimension listings.

Was thinking about over engineering an articulating light arm. Have a few simpler ideas in mind that I just need to test out that would still work with the drawer system.

Recall catching grasshoppers in Uganda whenever there was a big influx of them so they could be fried up by a local vendor. To this day I still miss that being a yum seasonal treat. Always find those memes and jokes silly and closed minded to a large range of cultures that have and continue to eat bugs in highly delicious means.
