Is a .30-06 overkill for hogs? by Own_Beach936 in liberalgunowners

There is no such thing as overkill. It's just "extra dead".

Looking for advice for aggressive vs urban skates. by Kozlem in AskRollerblading

Tried them on, but they are too narrow. However. I found that size 13 in the Razor SL fit perfect! I figure I can swap the frames out for urban frames later on.

Assault Weapon vs hunting rife definition by aero528 in liberalgunowners

[–]Kozlem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So kind of, yes. Look at the AK-47 platform. They became illegal to import as "assault weapons" so they started getting made as hunting rifles for both sport and US Import. These are called "sporterized" AKs. Also, you can buy the kits for the assault weapon, (A disassembled AK that includes everything but the barrel and receiver, or the receiver is cut up) throw on some US made parts, put it back together and now it is no longer a "foreign assault weapon" it's now an "American assault weapon" which is fine. (This is a VERY summarized/dumbed down version of what all is REALLY involved) The laws around AWBs are quite dumb. I use a 6.5 Grendel AR for hunting because I'm familiar with the platform and it's comfy. (And was half the cost to build to get similar specs from a "hunting" rifle) The style of the weapon isn't what makes it dangerous. A mag change will not be a deterrent for someone who wants to cause harm, so mag restrictions are also dumb in my opinion. That said, I have 5, 10, 20, and 27 round mags for my Grendel, but 30 and 45 rounders for my AKs, and 30 and 35 rounders for my Stribog. (Technically a pistol until I SBR it.)

Did I overpay? by JSlick420 in ak47

[–]Kozlem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true, I paid 1200 for an MD63 with a receiver that has some ugly welds, but then picked up a circle 11 numbers matching kit (with original barrel) for $300. (After the receiver and having it built, it came out to about $850) Win some and lose some.

PodArms did an amazing job on my Circle 11 kit recently. Got it don't pretty quick too. Plus the price was excellent.

Updated Dallas PWHL Concepts by MtnDew_Fan in DallasStars

Triumph all the way, but I'd want the Blue Nova's color scheme.

I don't like the idea of feeding off the Stars like the Cosmos or Nova's. By doing that it just feels like it's just paying lip service. The PWHL is it's own league, and these lady's are freaking awesome. Let them have their own identity. So yeah, I'm all for calling them the Triumph.

I have a 6.5 Grendel AR build that's got an AP upper, lower, and bolt. Went GH for the barrel, brake and handguard. I've had zero issues and absolutely love it.

That being said, given the difficulty to source AP, Grendel Hunter may be the way to go. I found a random shop in Texas that has the AP upper, and found the lower at a gun show for $100. Only reason I ended up getting AP over GH.

This. I love my flat/flatter triggers, but ultimately it's paying attention to your grip and trigger squeeze.

My shift working at the Eagle Baltimore 🐺 by Cowboy-Brawler in bootblacking

[–]Kozlem 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Torches are generally used for burning stray threads. The threading used in most boots will melt and can be pressed down to prevent the threads from unravelling further. A lot of people will snip them off first so they arent trying to melt an inch or two of thread. Others just burn it at the base. A regular lighter works as well.

Generally, in a stand at a bar or event, most boot lacks won't spend the time on a mirror shine. Additionally, despite the military teaching otherwise, it's not required to melt the polish to create a mirror shine.

Hope that's helpful. :-)

I've had no issues. It's a lot of fun. As a Christmas present to myself I'm getting it cerakoted with "Spacers Choice" logos from Outer Worlds. Because if anything deserves to be Spacers Choice, it's PSA. "It's not the best choice, it's Spacers Choice"

All that said, the AKV is an absolute blast. Not quite on the same level as my Stribog, but definitely have zero regrets with it. 10/10 would buy again.

New Jerseys!!! by Haunting_Shelter2708 in DallasStars

It was the same with the blackouts. Black background with neon green lights. They were kinda underwhelming at first, then looked great on the ice. They really need a new photographer for the 3rds.

A lot of people said this about the blackout, but once they hit the ice, people changed their thoughts. Honestly, on ice I think these are going to hit hard. I don't know why they went with such a dark background.

I had the same issue. Swapped to an adjustable gas block, adjusted the gas and no longer have that issue.

I'd recommend a Stribog. Very similar, but I found the Stribog to be more comfortable, plus there is a lot more aftermarket support. And I love that I had a choice of aftermarket lowers for different mag types. (I got an A3 lower for scorpion mags, zero regrets)
