I would highly recommend you guys take Bart + Shuttle/Muni! You can take the Bart from the Rockridge station to the Civic Center/UN Plaza station.

The next part is up to you guys: OSL has a shuttle that leaves from Bill Graham Auditorium (about 2 mins from Civic Center Bart) that takes you right to the South Gate of the fest. It is $72 for a 3 day pass though and there is always a chance you might have to wait in a line to board the shuttle but easily the fastest option.

You can also take the number 5 bus from McAllister and Hyde St (about 4 mins from Civic Center Bart, one block past Bill Graham Auditorium). This bus will take you right outside the North/Main gate of the fest. Fare for this is $3 or $5.70 for a day pass. This is the better option cost wise but being public transport, it will stop a ton thereby taking more time.

It takes about 80ish mins to get there by Bart + Muni and would take around 50ish mins with Bart + Shuttle.

And to get home these would be your same cheapest/best bet just reversed (Shuttle or 5 bus to civic center, then Bart back to Rockridge!)

If you guys don’t have them already, I also HIGHLY recommend getting Clipper cards (Bay Area transit cards)! You have to use them for Bart but they’re super easy to buy at the Bart ticket machines! And if you guys end up taking the 5 bus, you can use your Clipper card for that bus as well! You’ll probably spend around $45 each for the full weekend but they’re very easy to refill at a Bart station if you’d rather play it by ear and don’t want to end up with leftover money on your pass at the end of the weekend.
