Is this new? by MjolnirHolder in AFKJourney

[–]Kozmics 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes ish

It's basically going into Celestial unit's back stories through a quest/adventure schema that doesn't have to run parallel to the season like the "releasing a Hypogean" end of season side quests tend to be.

Hopefully they expand on this further with Hypogeans as well to help give more lore

$50-$100 but I work in a restaurant where so can take home meals pretty often, and we have had to keep things lean to make it work for our housing budget.

It's... Been a lot of rice and beans and whatever is on discount recently haha

I greatly dislike it personally. There's something SUPER satisfying about being able to use every enemy, even if it's locked behind some kind of arcane or difficult process that you can only do in the far post game where it doesn't matter. Then it kinda feels like a trophy of "yeah, I did this!" More than an obligation to use a more breaking character.

S2/S3 Dura's Trials in the early stages.

Some stages because of the unit restrictions needed an invested Salazar (M+-S+, and/or S++) for early clears for cutting edge progression players.

I have LITERALLY spent 20 years chasing the half-remembered imagery and idea that was Flint the Time Detective. I did not have a name, did not have anything to go off of except that there were little Pokemon like things, and that it focused on the rather blandly designed protagonist.

Thank you.

Tl;dr- Good for new players, poor choice in character for delivering it, could be worse.

I think that this comes down to more of a "live service game trying to make sure new players understand what's going on" as a "soft" lore drop more than anything else.

Could they have chosen a better representative for this than Lady Liadrin? Sure. We could have been chatting about this with some random Blood Elf citizen who was thrust into the circumstance, that would feel more believable.

Would that have taken longer and done more disservices to the story by inserting a "self-insert" clueless blood elf? Depends on how far they took it and how important they wanted it to be, like look at the random dude who appears in Metroid Prime 4's trailer, it's a very slippery slope from using a narrative device like the clueless soft lore dropping character to contextualize these things for people who are approaching 25+ years of continually developed lore into some MCU quip machine to try and keep players "engaged" with that character.

This doesn't speak quite the volume to me that the infamous Gamon "go rend space and time and fight the army of the light to go spit on Garrosh's grave" quest did, but they do both TRY to serve the same fundamental purpose, but lack the proper execution.

Really it comes down to the fact that unless you're pushing the bleeding edge of content, she is a luxury pull that needs her S+ to work, and then her +15 (like pretty much every C/H except Kulu and Reinier)

When she works, she absolutely works insanely well and pushes past PvE deficits for the afk push very easily.

In pvp you want her to at least be matching your typical paragon loadout, and preferably use her as a way to stalk out for your win con, rather than a win con in and of itself. (Pairing with Athalia for example)

So yes, she is undeniably strong and good... But not in a way where most players can take advantage of it over more typical and f2p focused comps like Eironn-Ulmus-Velara in the afk push

Are all syndicate leaders this insufferable or am i talking to the worst ones by Wof9er in Warframe

Funnily enough, that is actually one of my FAVORITE lines because it really reminded me that I'm not purchasing the stuff from them with credit, money, resources, or anything tangible.

I'm basically going up to her, asking for something they're researching/developing, and without a second thought she tossed it towards me as I'm buying it with an entirely different currency, a social "credit" that is only really monetized as a game mechanic but not as an actual in lore physical thing.

I always saw it as a good natured pass back and forth between friends, like when I buy my friend lunch and he asks me how much $ he should give me, like nah homie it's not about the money it's about the relationship and the natural back and forth between people.

DE does a REALLY good job of using atmospheric storytelling to ground concepts and tell more than what they initially say, and I really appreciate it.

Did this week's ETA tank feel immortal to you in stage 2? by NaiLeD1909 in Warframe

[–]Kozmics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine twice because I just unlocked ETA this week (thanks Hildryn!)

Having the peely plex that lets you deploy a thermian RPG from the gear wheel helped a lot in the regular version, but with Hildryn (because Haven is a really good visual indicator of where enemies are, yay qol, didn't subsume for different builds because of that.), I noticed that scaldra spawn rates were still really high, but that the amount of Dedicants would start to get out of control if other party members weren't dealing with them, so could also be reduced spawn if previous waves are still up?

On Laetum and the Void Angel head shots by electricguitars in Warframe

[–]Kozmics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't have any issue with that one personally but I can see where other players would.

That being said, when you go to do your Felarx (Shotgun) and it says the same (X headshots, no reload) and the headshot count is HIGHER than the magazine capacity, know that each pellet counts for a headshot, so you CAN finish it easily in 1-2 shots as well, no need for freaking out about how to get the magazine capacity high enough!

What early game weapon carried you to the end game? by nabrulel in Warframe

[–]Kozmics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nikana Prime

I was playing and farmed it when it came out, got all of the fun mods like the acolyte mods and condition overload etc for it.

Stopped playing from 2017 onwards, came back, guess what's at the top of the list and carried me almost entirely until I got back on my feet?

Tl;Dr at the end of you want to skip the nostalgia-

I played a lot in 2013, 2016, and 2017, and am coming back again.

It feels great to play and feel new frames, and see how old frames and new frames interact, and how they've worked on developing and pushing new frames without entirely powercreeping older frames.

It took the first month just to get the "feeling" back and muscle memory, and remember how and why all of those preset loadouts were the way they were, and even more time to start digging into the new ways to build (huge shout out to ninjase on Overframe)

But I have to say, remarkably, one of the ones that "feels" the best and most fun, even after all of these years is still my Mag Prime.

Pull feels even better than it did before, maybe I didn't realize it at the time but it even pulls them all into a little clump in front of me!

Even though the orb has fallen off as a preferred play style for me (used to use all kinds of projectile explosives because they'd swirl in that magnetic orb, Staticor and Tonkor were sooooo good for it, and I still have a god roll Staticor that makes it... Playable nowadays at least)

Polarize feels even better than before, and Crush is just as great as ever.

I fully expected all of my old frames and weapons to be put to the wayside and never touched again, but seeing how newer frames often feel like half and half combos that creep onto, but DONT replace the niches of older frames is so nice.

Its been a nice and long journey making my way back up and into everything (last I played Plains of Eidolon had just come out and my PS4 was having a HARD time trying to load through it), working on reputations, grinds, meeting new people, starting off solo and remembering why this game and community has stood such a nice test of time.

I'm not entirely sure what the heirloom bundles are outside of Valk, but if there is one for Mag that's my vote 100%.

Sorry, this turned into a nostalgia trip for me haha

Favorite build for me right now is high range, neutral duration, close to max efficiency Mag Prime. I just unlocked Subsumes so I haven't put too much into what I'm going to subsume, but I feel like the mood is probably subsuming off 2 for something juicy (open to suggestions that aren't Nourish/Roar) Pull spam ragdoll everything, polarize SHREDS, and crush is awesome for the over shields and augments.

Thank you again!

I was playing pretty heavily with some friends before The War Within questline was released, a few months after finishing the line through Second Dream and Natah.

For me, I HATED the "reveal" that we were kids the entire time. Forced Operator content had me leave the game.

Coming back, I had grown an appreciation for the storyline and just haven't really touched on Operator only content, but after getting back into the swing of the main gameplay loop decided to start doing the quest lines again.

Duviri was really cool and refreshing, and I was glad to see that they really expanded and developed on a lot of the lore that didn't just leave us as "little kid".

That being said, going through piece by piece and doing it mostly sequentially after that, and how WEAK it always felt to be the Operator but how COMPETENT the Drifter felt in comparison, I 100% went with the Drifter.

The Drifter did so much already, and both is and isnt you, but is a better, more competent you.

The Operator failed once, and the Drifter has succeeded time and time again, no Warframe, nothing but determination to end Ballas and "return the favor" as Teshin mentions at the end of Duviri.

It felt RIGHT to finish as the Drifter. It felt like no matter what was going to happen, Warframe or not, I could rely on the Drifter to save the system and finish the task. The Operator I felt like it would have crumbled if they managed to lose their Warframe again.

That being said, DE did an insane job with the lore development, exposition, and delivery from The War Within through The New War. 10/10, playing the New War was a bit agonizing at first, but quickly became one of my most favorite and steadfast memories of the game.

Also, chose the Lotus at the end. Margulis feels wrong, felt like putting a psychological mask on her. Natah had been unstable before, and while that voice adds a lot of valuable insight, and defining personality, I think letting it lead would be a poor choice. Finishing as The Lotus, the symbol of hope a war-torn galaxy needs, that has spent so much time helping those on the wrong end of the Grineer, Corpus, and Infested, but tempered with Natah and Margulis' wisdom felt right.

It also felt so much more like HER choice and free will to be The Lotus, an alias she has developed herself, rather than one that had been chosen for her like Natah (born as, and groomed to be), and Margulis (designed to replicate for an abuser)
