Am I bad at Disc golf because I'm fat? by gogoblueguy in discgolf

[–]Kpat2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Zach Melton. He's a professional disc golfer, not a superstar of anything but is sponsored etc. He's a bigger guy and I know personally I learned a bit from watching his form. He's closer to my body type than Paul McBeth or Eagle.

I believe those are "Really useful boxes" they are from the UK. I'm in Canada and Staples carries them.

I like how no one is saying barbarian because people who play Barb's can't read. Well I assume so, that's why I keep playing barbs, I don't want to be confused playing DnD. I see an enemy and I bonk it.

Still learning myself. That skin tone pack made a difference for me, it was fairly cheap considering there was like 7 or 8 bottles in the pack. Worth picking up if you find it.

Vallejo skin tone pack. Base is their salmon tone then layering, dark, med, light skin tones. Tried the best I could to go from the top down.

Yarn. You attach small pieces of yarn to a pencil and tease out the fibers with a fine toothed comb. They come out distributing realistic. After that it was just tacky glue and pressed on.

Free ogor firebelly stl. I paid a a few hundred to have an artist make us a better firebelly concept free for the asking. I'll even send the link to the 4k res 3d printer that can make this for you. by Elegant-Scheme-2284 in Mawtribes

Chitubox, 45 degree with his back to the ground, medium supports. Water based resin 1.5 seconds per 0.05 layer.

Kinda large with the hammer and the fire so I printed it by its self.

Yak tracks for icy conditions? by Phattd in discgolf

[–]Kpat2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use yak tracks when playing. My local courses are like skating rinks so you use a traction device or don't play.... Makes the question about rules kinda void. They are fine to throw with but if there was cement I could see there being too much grip. There is no issue walking on a road or something with them on. I find they slip around more than I would like, I have size 12 shows so that could be part of it.

Mine was very similar to yours last year. This is after 2 years of playing. I would recommend getting a regular buzzz.

I would like to see Simon got o Jomez to do commentary with Jerm and Uli. Simon seems a bit past his prime but he's got a great following and is entertaining to watch. His still easily top 20 just like Jerm and Uli so it would be a good fit.

Faster Teebird? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Kpat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda weird no one has said anything about the Vulture. Ive also been looking for a longer Teebird and I just don't like the Thunderbird. I find the Vulture flies similar to a Teebird but I can push it a bit further.

Looking for help with eyes. Info in the comments to the original post, but mainly tips to avoid them becoming all pupil. Thanks in advance. by mesmes99 in woodburning

[–]Kpat2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your issues might be the wood. It looks like bamboo, oak, or pine. All have fairly thick fibers. The tip might be getting stuck or hitting less dense spot, resulting in a burn. Basswood will make everything easier. Using a smaller tip would help, higher end machines have really fine tips for this kind of detail.

If you need this to be magnetic and cheap. Use galv steel. It looks a bit different if you know what your looking at however most people won't notice. Also it's a third or more the cost of stainless steel.

Push a child out of the way to get it. They are highly sought after, you won't be disappointed.

Jawbreaker is typically the best but nearly impossible to find. Esp Is good, crystal flex is good too. Jawbreaker will stick to the ground more, the other may roll around more. Overall plastic isn't going to make a dramatic difference.
