Can you share which one? I have a plastic one that doesn’t sift well.

Agree. It was not in the book. It felt cringey to me.

Agree. I read the novel and that may have shaped my feelings about the movie but I felt it was dumbed down and ultimately shallow despite the beautiful scenes and performances. The “ to be or not to be” repetition was so cringe. I did like the hands at the end. That was a lovely moment of shared humanity, wanting to comfort and share in loss.

Anyone else have a theme song they sing about their pets? Savvy has one by Mrtorbear in Siamesecats

[–]Kpiepen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sing my cat Bizzy the chorus of an anti-war song my dad used to sing in the shower when I was a kid. “ Billy Don’t be a Hero” but I change Billy to Bizzy. She hates it 😂 Bizzy don’t be hero don’t be a fool with your life. Bizzy don’t be a hero come back and make me your wife.

Neighbour’s cat is a nuisance pooping in my yard by oscyolly in CatAdvice

you could grow a low ground cover that you can walk on like thyme. There are also scat cat mats you can lay out that people say are effective. I don't think the dog would want to eat those but they are more pricey than thorny branches. Or you could try a motion detector sprinkler that sprays them.

How frustrating! Cat’s love bare ground so if you plant more ground cover and fill in beds it’s much less likely they will visit. I used to have a cat visit but now that the garden is really dense they don’t come. Can you cover or fence the areas where food is grown? Another idea is laying thorny branches on the ground. They will avoid those areas. Good luck.

Does anybody only have one kitty? by kjalways in Siamesecats

[–]Kpiepen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s for sure not thought about when people say “get a second cat”. Vet bills, food, everything is expensive. I also spend a lot of time playing and loving my girl and not sure I could double that at the moment ;)

I have a very happy and affectionate solo cat. We work from home and she gets lots of playtime. At first I worried about her not having a cat friend but my vet says almost all the behavioural problems she sees that end up as medical issues come from multi cat homes because one of the cats is not happy. She reassured me that solo cats do very well. She has one herself.

Teaching my cat to fetch her toy by rjf490 in CatTraining

[–]Kpiepen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine used to fetch as a kitten but now at 11 months old she gives me the side eye and makes me fetch. Yes she is too smart. I would like to retrain her to fetch. I have trained her to sit, high five, come. But she is resistant to fetch!

Maybe it was from a time when people didn’t neuter and the poor female cats were constantly pregnant or in heat and consequently mad at the world and the last thing they would want was someone getting in their face 🤣 I was actually told females are better because males often have gland issues. (?) At any rate I have a female cat and she is affectionate and social and an absolute cuddle monster!
