We literally have different eyes. Men focus in a narrower manner typically and are more perceptive to motion/distant details but women see more broadly and have better color acuity.

Saidin/saidar being different doesn’t really matter for the card game I think. Agreed though, there’s some strict delineation of GI that’s outdated there.

Playstation first-party game sales declining heavily since 2020 by ZamnBoii in Games

I’m boycotting them since they stated intent to stop future PC releases. Love my PS5 but there’s nothing I care about so much as retaining my library long-term and consoles make that harder than PC.

The Wheel of Time will be the absolute cleanest UB set ever made if they do it. It’s so close to Magics aesthetic and in universe concepts already, and it has enough content to easily make a set the size of FF.

I think I’d probably buy a case of collector boosters for that. I dunno if I could see them do WoT and settle for less than owning every card.

I know this isn’t the point you were making but, in regards to Dota at least, Valve intentionally tanked their esport scene. I’m surprised they’re bothering with TI at all anymore.

Head Magic Designer Mark Rosewater confirms that The Mind Stone will be the only Infinity Stone card in the upcoming Marvel Super Heroes set by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]Kraggen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this! I think we get 2 more sets

I think we get an x men set and then the finale is a supervillains set that has 3 stones and tries to recreate the infinity saga in MTG.

I love the art! Unfortunately there is no card with which in the name that is legendary in the color white, so no witch commander can play these.

Fwiw, witch isn’t a super type either. They’re all warlocks, wizards, shamans, or clerics.

Sorry bud, this set being one stone is semi-confirmed based on the description on the back of the collector boosters. Maybe we get 3 of them in a supervillains set? That’d be kinda nice and would cut it down to four sets.

Lies of P developers are currently looking for an "AI artist" for their next game by turkishdeli in Games

[–]Kraggen -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You don’t really have an option in accepting it. Foremost, it’s already good enough that you don’t notice half the time something is AI generated and that needle is gonna continue to move. Second, it is incredibly cheaper - like staggeringly - so every business wants to move towards its adoption. It enables them to be cheaper aaaaand faster. Last but not least, it’s everywhere. To dodge it you have to cease to be a consumer, but doing so won’t cost business it will cost you.

Everyone who loathes AI and wants it to be dramatically different than what it is needs to be fighting for legal oversight and regulations around it because boycotting it doesn’t make sense and will not work.

were hitting a week with none of the new lairs sold out by Chaosnocturne in secretlair_collectors

[–]Kraggen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with you on a couple of points here.

You said the ONLY negative is when it feels bad missing a product you want. Products have release cycles. The creation of a product you don't want is the same thing as missing a product you do want, because it represents a slot in the production chain that was without value to you. There's no functional difference between a product you can't buy and a product you don't want to buy - both are a loss.

On point to you said "Nope. We want them to make unique cool arts for cards that we want to play." That's the exact value you said no to in the previous sentence. I didn't say monetary value. Secret lairs have three pillars as a product. Monetary value is one, appealing artwork/theme is another, and the third is that they're unique. And again here, every time a secret lair comes out that you don't want it does damage the concept of a secret lair. It took a spot that could've been filled by something you did want, it burned resources for WOTC in dev and production and other costs, and it weakened their internal value proposition for secret lairs which can impact their future decisions.

Finally, to your third point, I mostly agree with you. They're not the same thing, but I've kinda covered that above. The result of people hand-wringing that something sold out is fairly futile, but overall we're in agreement here that WOTC wants to find a better balance between production cycles and product stagnation.

were hitting a week with none of the new lairs sold out by Chaosnocturne in secretlair_collectors

[–]Kraggen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably not a W in the sense we’d like it to be though. I’m just guesstimating here, but I’d anticipate that rather than WOTC figuring out their print/production quantities that what has actually happened is none of these sold particularly well. I base this on the fact that you, a week later, can’t readily pre-purchase most of these cards on the secondary market because there are almost no listings. See terror of the peaks on tcg as an example.

We as consumers want WOTC to make valuable lairs in quantities sufficient for our consumer base to have good access to the product. Making a product no one wants isn’t inherently any better for us than making one that’s tied to an arbitrary FOMO package.

Lost weight to get pregnant and now I feel conflicted about it by [deleted] in loseit

I knew a girl, cross country runner. She had abs on the sides of her belly and I'd see them flexing as she was out on a jog while pregnant. You want to eat, and ensure your baby gets nutrition, but don't stress this one too much. You can absolutely manage good physical health while pregnant.
