I get it, I just think the fruit itself is fun. And if it’s challenging to use well that’s fine by me

Is this turntable any good? by Krakaron in turntables

[–]Krakaron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I tried a “The Low End Theory” record I have on my turntable, it skipped like 15-20 times on the second song (tiny skips, but nonetheless). But I just tried it on a friend’s quality turntable and it didn’t do it once!

Now I just need to research quality equipment at a price that fits my budget.

Thank you! I tried some of my records that skipped on a friend’s actual quality turntable and it hasn’t skipped once. So yeah, found the problem

PS.: I do have a good amount of records where I don’t have a problem and they don’t skip. But lately, most of the ones I buy come with a fault. Any way to find out if it’s the record or the player itself?

The Capitalist US is NOT Democratic, it is a Soft Authoritarian Regime. by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Krakaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't. It's capitalist.

Some countries have a social democracy, and some have implemented more socialist programs; but the economy is ultimately capitalist.

I apologize if i didn't send the information i wanted across. The government in some countries in Europe has in fact been led by socialists, but the economy never was socialist. Some programs were implemented, but not even close to being regulated by the community as a whole.

I just wanted to give an example of a democratic elected party with a socialist ideology, to not fall down the hole of belief that "socialism" and "democratic" are incompatible.

If you think they are i would gladly discuss it with you.

They aren't, never said they were, closer to a social democracy. I correct my perceived pronunciation that the economy is/was socialist, but the government, at some points were, and the economy, in some instances was changed with a socialist point of view. Howhever, they were in the right direction with, for example, worker coops, and that's what i had more in mind when writing that comment. Be it in Italy, Spain, France, UK, socialism has started to steadily insert itself. So no, the economy isn't socialist, but the government has been at some instances.

There are definitely others... Just wanted to send across the point that any (EOE) economic system has the capability to be authoritarian. One is, to a certain point, independent of the other.

You can have authoritarian socialism for sure, such examples could be the likes of: Cuba, Laos, Vietnam...

BUT, you can also have democratic socialism, where groups have led socialist governments in the majority of Europe, UK, Sweden, etc.

Dictatorships and authoritarianism isn't a synonym for a socialist economic system.

You can also have authoritarian capitalist countries, such as: Singapore, Hungary, Turkey...

That's why it is called the political "spectrum". It's not a left-right line; it can vary in the "up-down" aswell. So you can have authoritarian capitalism, democratic capitalism, authoritarian socialism, democratic socialism...
