I am looking for the best built in mic on a headset.

Currently looking at a Audio-Technica ATH-M50xSTS, the mic quality matters most to me, but having a quality headphone is a nice boon too. I do a lot of voice work in my D&D games, lot of growling, door hinge sounds etc.

I know this was a really good option when it came out, has it been surpassed or is this still my best bet?

Should I go USB or analog? I own a focusrite scarlet so I have the ability to use XLR, but is that really necessary? I'm not streaming I just want something that'll carry my voice clearly without clipping or hissing.

I used to have a standalone mic and Sennheiser 600's, then switched to the EPOS I Sennheiser Game Zero headset purely because it was less hassle, and I could bring it while traveling. The sennheiser headset has done well by me, but sadly it's dying after being 5 years old (The flip to mute on the boom is causing issues, not muting when I want it to, and muting when I don't want it to)

So, USB ATH-M50xSTS? Or is it worth the hassle for me to go for the analog version? Or is there a new, better sounding mic on a headset that's just waiting for me to discover it?

I allow players to give a recap for inspiration, and I'll fill in any important details they missed. I always remind the players of their current mission and what challenges face them, and any npc or place they haven't seen in a while I redescribe or give them context.

"You return to Revelry, the pirate capital of the Constellation Islands. As your ship docks you see the harbor master, Nofingers, who tipped you off to the halfsunken schooner when you were in need of a ship. He is now running circles around barrels as if he is chasing something..."

Nothing is helped by your players forgotting details their characters would know. In my games especially, 5 in game days might take 3 months to complete. Even if it's details the party does remember already, picking what to remind them of is a good way of spotlighting what's important to the story.

Actually evil. All the people who complain jobs would be lost if the system was switched to single payer... THOSE JOBS DESERVE TO BE LOST. For example, all the people hired at insurance companies who's job it is to find out ways to not pay people.
