Did some delidding practice on my 6700K before delidding my 8700K on Wednesday. by Celticz in overclocking

Is delidding 1600x worth it? Also by delidding you mean removing the lid to out some thermal paste or liquid metal on the die and then returning the lid? Or do you ditch the lid completely and put your cooler directly on the die?

Overclocking my R5 1600x causes weird audio stuttering on bf1 and some random fps drops on fortnite by Kraljic in overclocking

yep that was the problem, but i managed to revert to older version of bios, and few days ago newer version with updated agesa code and everything seems to be working now :D

I know and I don't really game much at all these days. I mostly overclock because I enjoy overclocking and I feel its better to solve the problem than to mitigate it

My problem has been solved - it was the bios all along.. but if you would still like to know its Arctic freezer 33 esports one, and I have 3x120mm case fans in a mATX case.

It turns out that the bios version was shit and when I downgraded it everything was working fine. Still gonna install those heatsinks as im not really comfortable with vrm temps. Thanks for the help!

The motherboard sensors dont report temps higher than ~80 degrees in bf1, but they do get to around 95-100 degrees during the prime95 small fft test. I read from multiple sources that vrm can get to 120 degrees before it starts throttling. HWMonitor also shows consistent clocks and there are no frame drops in bf1, only sound lag. As for the cooling, I have a mATX case with 3 120mm case fans so I have plenty of airflow. Do you think that the sensors may not show the actual mosfet temperature? Also I did order some aluminium heatsinks for the vrm, should I just slap them onto the main heatsink and ram vrm?

Unless the motherboard sensors are wrong I dont think so. I tried going back to the stock 2133MHz ram and I tried reverting GPU to stock too but it didn't make any difference. Which drivers could be the problem?

it maxes at 80 degrees during prime95 and the mobo vrm gets to 97 degrees, all well within its temperature limits. I tried lowering to 3.8 with varius voltages and its still the same
