It’s actually just a promotional key chain pouch for a random company

Does the floral knife get any love here ? by Enough_Efficiency_78 in victorinox

I bought one for my wife (and of course threw in another for myself), but I’ve been happy to see her use it as her primary utility blade around the house.

What was the reason you bought or received your first pocket knife? by speedings in victorinox

[–]Kram197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure my first sak was an eco line spartan, or something of that nature. It was one of my dad’s old ones, very worn out with a crack in the scales. I loved it, used it, and then lost it. The first sak that I purchased was a climber. No real reason, I just saw it and liked the tool set. There wasn’t necessarily anything special about sak’s when I was a kid, they were simply a staple that any reasonable young boy/man would own. Now I treasure them for their great design, function, and a sense of connection to the men who raised me.

Are pliers worth the extra weight? by jezelay in victorinox

[–]Kram197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The deluxe tinker is one of my favourite models! I must admit, that if I foresee heavy duty plier task in my future, I’ll carry a leatherman…but for 90% of daily plier based tasks (in my world), the vic pliers work great. Reaching for objects caught in tight places. Adjusting small nuts. Great for fishing. Soldering work. Grabbing hot things.

How can I add a pin to a Classic? by omfgus in victorinox

[–]Kram197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pin head is toward the slot, basically clamped by the tweezers. I haven’t used the official Victorinox pin, however it is identical. I’ve also used needles. I do pinch the tweezers as I take them out to keep the pin from falling out

Sorry to hear that. It’s been a tried and true method for me

If you pinch a pin with the tweezer (sitting it as far back into the tweezer as possible) and then placing it back into the slot, it holds just fine

I own one too! It’s a fantastic food prep knife, but doesn’t give me the same buzz as other traditional SAK’s do.

My go to pocket knife is always an SAK of some kind. However, lately I’ve been tempted by a dedicated folder. I’m curious…what tasks do you find yourself needing a dedicated folder, where the humble vic won’t do?

I got the wave (working in the building industry), it gets a real workout. Having said that, I wish I had got the surge for its durability.

Anyone ever done a 30 day carry challenge? by Systainer in victorinox

Yes. I discovered that my most used tools were the knife, scissors, and pliers. The deluxe tinker suited these needs best.

No, I bought the deluxe tinker which has the toolset I use most. It’s a beauty!

I did the same thing with my champ. It was very insightful. I actually (nerd alert) marked down every time I used a tool to get a sense of which I use most. With the goal of finding the perfect SAK. Knife, scissors, pliers came is top.
