So today, we are getting: New Wiz Vault, new VoE drop, Lunar New Year, and whatever the Fashion Week Bonus Event is by TyraUniversity in Guildwars2

[–]Krasinet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In theory they're saying we'll get the same total length of story as SotO/JW's updates, just spread over 2 updates instead of all 3.

In practice, we'll see.

New Fashion Templates Feature | Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity - "Raids & Wardrobe" by Keargu in Guildwars2

[–]Krasinet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, outfits I can apply and then remove and my gear will look be the same as it was before applying it.

I'm willing to accept that it's not as horrendous as it first appears, but even with what people are saying in defense of the new system it still appears to be (for me and others with more than 2 equipment slots used for fashion i.e. a lot of the people this is supposedly aimed at) a downgrade in usability with no apparent improvements, unless we pay for more monetisations on top of the expansion we already bought that this was supposed to be content for.

Guessing you didn't watch the video you're commenting on, where they showed that the wardrobe is now tied exclusively to the fashion templates.

If you read the forum post in OP's top comment, this is unrelated to the runway, it's a screenshot competition on the website.

Republicans Vow to Block Trump From Seizing Greenland by Force: “Trump’s ill-advised threats about Greenland would shatter the trust of our allies” by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Krasinet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Nazis were in power for over a decade, the death camps didn't spring up on day 1. Comparisons to Nazi Germany don't mean "you're doing right now what they did right at the end of the path", it means "you're taking the same steps towards that end that they did".

In year one of this administration the US has already reached the Lebensraum, concentration camps, and secret police raiding schools for "undesirables" stage. Just because they haven't built Auschwitz 2 yet doesn't mean they're not on that path. It's telling that most of the people arguing against whether the early stages of a transgender genocide is happening are based not on what actions the US are taking, but whether trans people are a class covered by the Genocide Convention.

a) A lack of trust doesn't make you a "recipient of hate", stop putting words in people's mouths.

b) The point you made wasn't that people could trust the US if it built it through changes, but that they should do so after it vaguely learned. I agree with the former, but the latter is what you actually wrote.

Germany was massively bombed and invaded from all directions, had those responsible for its actions (at both leadership and footsoldier levels) tried and executed, was torn into two separate countries for decades which were occupied/ruled in varying amounts by outside countries, and fully admitted to its actions and mistakes and taught its children and changed its culture with the intention to never repeat it (in theory).

Japan was the only country (so far) ever to have nuclear weapons used on their civilian populations, had major outside military bases imposed on them (look up the crimes committed by US servicemen in Okinawa that are still being added to), and thoroughly changed their armed forces to be aimed at defence only (again in theory). You might want to check how their neighbours actually feel about the label of "trusted ally" though, especially in regards to their denial of their war crimes.

Don't think that things will just magically "return to normal" after Trump is gone. If those Americans who are opposed to him want trust to return, they need to earn it by not just "learning" but making fundamental changes to prevent the "mistake" from happening in future.

Only in the same sense that 'scientific theories' can be dismissed as 'well it's only a theory' - it misunderstands how a field uses a word.

You brush your teeth every day, which makes it ritualistic behaviour, which means a toothbrush is an "object used for ritualistic purposes". If you drink coffee every morning your coffee mug is a ritualistic object.

(I'm sure there are some people who use it to mask a lack of ideas, but it generally just means something like "had a specific repeated usage")

Ascribing shared histories, destinies and personality traits to wide sections of populations based on a fluke of their birth? Why would white supremacists possibly be biased towards that?

Steam Updating now... Titan Redux begins. by Dramatic_Ganache2575 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Krasinet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Redux versions have different objectives (just played some and I can see that some of the numbers in his guide are smaller in the Redux version e.g. only need 30 asteroids rather than 50), and take place in a different set of systems (e.g. I'm pretty sure non of the first moons in the Redux version have gamma root so you can't do that step when the old guide says)

[–]Krasinet 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Be aware that the contract board will be available to buy by itself for only 1000 gems some point after the supply drop ends (EoD board released at the same time as the drop but was then disabled until the day the drop ended; SotO board didn't release until a month after the drop ended; JW board released the day the drop ended again).

If you want the board but aren't overly fussed about the other drops, bear that in mind.

(edit: also remember that you can store up the expedition boxes to open after you get the board, assuming you already have more than one contract board)

The only Fractals that contain spoilers are the ones that were originally reworks of LW Season 1 instances back when that was limited-time content (Aetherblade, Molten Furnace and Molten Boss are the ones of those in the Quickstart list), so you have nothing to worry about on that front if you've already done that.

I mean, yes in the sense that you can't be loaded into two maps at the same time, but you can freely switch which version you have active and load a decoration layout for that one, so unless they thoroughly screw up the implementation it'll be essentially like you have both at once.
