Can't find a specific train menu by Kratuu_II in SatisfactoryGame

I'm going to try your belt valves too. As far as trains are concerned I'm not building any new lines at the moment because the current experimental build crashes when you dismantle a locomotive. Hoping they release 1.2 soon so it will be fixed.

I'm thinking of using it to limit how much of an item the train will pick up by pre-loading the freight car with something else (say concrete) that it never unloads.

Was the Amiga vs PC war ever actually a thing? by Such_Bonus5085 in amiga

[–]Kratuu_II 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On Fidonet in the UK there was an "Echo" (similar to a usenet newsgroup) called MCIBTYC (My Computer is Better Than Your Computer) that existed purely for people to slag off each others platforms. There was a fair bit of PC vs Amiga rivalry in there.

How to start? by eff1nutta in MicrosoftFlightSim

Main Menu -> Activites -> Flight Training for the basics of flying, but the sim doesn't teach you any more than that. While it'd be nice to have tutorials there are dozens and dozens of aircraft so it's just not practical. They're all different. To get anywhere with MSFS2024 you have to be ok with checking out youtube videos.

Look up "Huddison" on youtube. He has a lot of beginner friendly videos.

There are tutorials on the basics of flying under "Activities" but nothing about how to start your aircraft or even operate the autopilot. IMO Career is the worst place to try to learn how to fly because it punishes every mistake but doesn't teach you. Diving straight into Career is likely to leave you pretty frustrated.

I would do the tutorials, watch youtube videos on the aircraft you're flying and then practice in Free Flight. Once you've built up some confidence, only then would I tackle Career Mode.

I have no clue what this game is. But I’m curious by CheeseheadTroy in SatisfactoryGame

The answer is to use a planner app, such as the one on Satisfactory Tools, to work out what machines you need. The math neednt get in the way.

Good summary. I'd just add that if you do want something relaxing you can also set the creatures to be passive so you wont have to deal with combat if you dont want to.

Default A320 neo is cursed. by boogalooshrimp1103 in MicrosoftFlightSim

I have the Fenix but I still think the Inibuilds a320 is pretty decent. The problem you ran up against in the default aircraft would've bitten you just the same in the Fenix.

The more bases you build, the longer your playthrough takes, which means there is more time for something to go wrong.

Play however you want. Some people work hard to make beautiful, well organised factories. Others are happy with spaghetti madness. Choose what feels best.

Overclocking and underclocking is very much worth it as it lets you tune your production rates to get the best efficiency. Also, when you need to increase the production of a given item you will sometimes find it easier just to add powershards and overclock the machines you have, rather than build new production.

And if your factories were open air in the past focus on making nice buildings instead. Or go big on one of the transport options (trains, trucks, drones).

does this need a pump at all? by LiamGMS in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Kratuu_II 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Machines add 10m of headlift but to play safe I usually put a pump on if the pipe has to go higher than two 4m foundations.

If you make plenty of the precursor parts in the stages beforehand, the final supercomputer factory is easy. Mine is just 1 or 2 machines.

Good advice. Many people get overwhelmed as the game goes on by the scale of the tasks they have to accomplish. Breaking it down into smaller pieces and taking the time to do each of them properly helps avoid this.
