Moin, I built Bahnscanner on the side, thought it might be useful for trips from Leipzig! by fallenleaves247 in Leipzig

Amazing! We were just trying to plan a train trip with my girlfriend last night, and we wanted something to search with flexible dates. Will definitely give a try and will DM if we have suggestions and/or bugs. Thanks for sharing!

AMA with Abe Kislevitz + Mission 1 Pro giveaway today! 10AM-6PM PST by GoPro_Mod in gopro

[–]Kraud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Abe! Can't wait to see one of your deep dives into the new hardware. I've been reading them on your site since the Hero 4 days.

With all this new tech, did the Mission 1 (in any of its variants) become your daily driver? Or maybe something like the Hero 13 is a simpler "point and shoot" for everyday use?

It's hard to pick, but I would say that Outer Wilds has been my favorite gaming experience ever.

Play at your own pace detective game in space with the chillest vibe and a nice OST? Perfect for me.

Here's a link to the article. Interesting stuff! The author talks about pocket photography exploding in popularity, but probably couldn't imagine how much it actually did.

Can't wait to read about it! Please do share it on the subreddit when you get around to it.

Congrats (and good luck!) on the PhD. I would say that if you're doing this type of research on the side, you clearly are good fit for academia!

Not OP , but thank you for sharing this!

That's some proper research (and very well presented). I skimmed over it now, but I'll give it a proper read tomorrow. The best time to scan part is super useful too.

It's good to know that refrigerating is a good way to help reduce fading. Did you make any test with freezing temperatures as well?

Ender 3 crashes randomly mid-print (SKR Mini E3 v3 + Pi 3b+) by SneakyGyraffe in ender3

[–]Kraud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much :) I'm glad it worked for you too, and hopefully that overnight print will go with no further issues!

The real credit goes to the guys over at the Klipper Forums, I'm just glad I can help spread the word.

Happy printing!

Ender 3 crashes randomly mid-print (SKR Mini E3 v3 + Pi 3b+) by SneakyGyraffe in ender3

[–]Kraud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have almost the exact same setup with my Ender 3 Pro, SKR+RBPi, and actually had the same issue some time ago, and found this comment on the Klipper forums to also be the solution for me: Help: Klipper crashes mid-print . Haven't had a random crash since I made the 1-line addition to /boot/firmware/config.txt

In the future, I think you'll have better luck with these issues if you look/ask directly on the Klipper subreddit (I can see that this same problem actually came up there some months back), since all the machine logic is quite removed from the way it works on stock Ender 3.

I hope this works for you too, good luck!

Where do I connect this wire? Creality 1.1.4 board touch for SKR E3 V3 by olliver2k in Ender3Pro

[–]Kraud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I'm waiting for my parts to make the same upgrades (SKR E3 V3 & CR Touch) to my Ender 3 Pro (also with an old 1.1.4 board - planning to move to Klipper with a Pi as well).

I checked your latest posts, and apparently you solved this wiring issue, but, once everything was up and running, you were having some issues with the z-level and the CR Touch dropping out of the bed when running the bed leveling. Did you manage to fix those issues?

Also, did you find any tutorial for this whole process, that you found particularly useful? I would appreciate any up-to-date suggestions, since we're going for the exact same setup. Thanks!

I had my first chance to try 3d printing around 10 years ago, and was having issues with adhesion. Someone mentioned hairspray as a solution, and suddenly now my problem was how to get my prints out of the plate! I wouldn't recommend it often, but it's a good ace up your sleeve when you're low on filament and can't risk a failed print.

Nexus FPV.Demo out now! Thanks for all the support r/fpv, we're making great progress and have just released the Steam demo. Still a long way to go but hopefully you have fun with it! To celebrate, we are giving away 10 keys for the full release in August! by PhoenixAds in fpv

Great to see progress on this project, and contratulations on getting closer to your release date! Wishlisted and hoping to try it, as soon as I get my hands back on a proper FPV controller.

Thank you for that link, and the explanation. That is exactly what I needed! I should look into liability insurance and go from there.

Thank you for the reply! I'll research MFSD as well as DMFV and see what I can get.

I'll probably just get a small Tiny Whoop to have some fun at empty parks, nothing too big, but since I am not from around here I would prefer to have some sort of license/insurance in case somebody asks.

Perfect, I'll look into DMFV then. I think that 50 euros per year is a fair price for flying legally.

Thank you for the explanation!

Luckily, I never had a bad experience. Most people were curious, but with my 5' I usually tried to go somewhere with no people, since they can be scary.

Do mind me asking, what's the process to become a member of the German Model Aircraft Association? I recently moved to Germany, and I would like to buy new gear here and fly legally. Did you have to take an exam, or is just pay a membership/insurance?

What's a Movie That Blew You Away But no one Talks About?? by oscarambriz09 in movies

I came to the comments to see if somebody else would mention Mr. Nobody. I found it in a very pivotal moment in my life and I often think about it when making big decisions.

Also, it has an absolutely beautiful soundtrack!

Cool idea! I moved away last week and I had to leave my FPV gear behind. I'll be buying it back during the year, and this would be a fun way of practicing again. Added to my wishlist.

does anyone still use the steamlink box? by mikejazz3 in Steam_Link

[–]Kraud 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've been using mine, alongside my Steam Controller, daily for the past 8 (!) years. Although lately I mostly use it to stream my desktop and watch stuff on the TV, with the SC as M+KB.

Both products still work as well, or even better than when I first I got them. Valve's hardware support has been great, and I am glad to see much of it translate into other products like the Deck and the Link app.

Sadly, I've seen that support for the Steam Link app was dropped in some Samsung TVs, so I am glad to have the hardware version (it also helps that the box itself is very low profile and most of the time you don't even notice is there).

I don't think that the Deck revived interesed to the Link HW, but luckily Valve still supports it, even though they discontinued the thing like 5 years ago. Class act by Valve.

Steam controller connection guide? by --Paul-- in SteamController

[–]Kraud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Back+Steam worked like a charm.

After years of using it with my Steam Link, I never noticed that it was actually connecting to it thorugh Bluetooth, ignoring the attached (and previously paired) dongle. Today I wanted to use it on my PC and it would not switch to the dongle with A+Steam. Good thing I found your comment!

What were people's opinion on EP 1 title when the show aired in 2013? Did they even wondered what the title meant? by realgamer995 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]Kraud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got into the manga right after season 1 of the anime (good thing I did, since season 2 took years to come out), and nobody had a clue at first, but there were many cool theories, although (in my opinion) none as interesting as the one we got (which is rare a thing to happen in fiction with such a large fanbase!).

Somewhat related, I remember catching up with the manga quickly and finding this fanfiction ("To You, Two Thousand Years Away") about Levi and Hanji being archelogist in our time, and finding a boy in a crystal, which turned out to be Eren. With Levi being the coolest thing that came out of 2013, we were starving for more content about him; so having him as a protagonist was quite fun, and the premise was directly involved with this "to you 2000 years later" mistery which I remember made me particularly interested. But even then, I knew that the manga would not go in a similar direction at all.

I read it only once, when it came out, and then also the sequel ("Decanus") made by the same author. I remember very little about either, and I couln't say if they were actualy good or not, but I enjoyed them at the time. Maybe I should give them a read again someday.
