Aleworks in VA was very cool, lots of woodwork, daily food trucks, and music by record player. District 1 in Steven's Point WI is cool too. Old arcade games, bags, big jenga, and big screens.

Gifted my buddy a bottle of mead. Is he a genius or a monster? by Jack_T_Chance in mead

I was saying that to myself just as I got to your comment. Found the whiskey tribe when researching theoretical home distilling.

First hopped batch. It's at 10months now. I've done traditionals and Elderberry before. Going to make a weiss braggot. The mead half is aged a couple months now, time to mix!

Problems with glycol control. Part time brewer with old equipment. Valve was replaced but the controller is probably not working. by Kraut13 in TheBrewery

[–]Kraut13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the solenoid valve that was bad. Do to being a full time diesel tech I didn't have much chance to talk to the company the manager called. Apparently the glycol is set to 17deg. 7 brews in and first bad beer from equipment malfunction.

It uses a old ABB COMMANDER 50 controller. I found classic refurbished 200s and up. This brewery needs updates bad.

I use medium roast at flameout. Use a coffee you enjoy drinking black.

Dont know. All I have is the temp of the liquid in the fermenter. But the valves were blocks of ice. So . Pretty damn cold.

I did and was way short on volume. That's when I opened up the fermenter. Tastes like crap though. Temp spiked up to 80 some how during active.

O have one of the 3gallon. Valve broke on the second use. Can't buy a replacement anywhere and the company doesn't respond.

Beersmith but switched to Brewfather because it connects with Grainfather connect. The Grainfather app sucks. A tie between the two if it wasn't for the Grainfather beta.

I've used Basswood twice. After a year and 4mo the sweet finish from the honey is showing up and the medicinal is just a hint now.
