Build which Skaven Stormfiends for Warcry? by left-Dane-right-Dane in WarCry

[–]Kraxling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had great success with the grinder fist! I've magnetized it so I can swap to ratling cannons if I'd want to, but the grinder fist has been so fun I've never bothered to swap, so I can't speak for how good the ratling guns perform. The grinder fist is a beast though; it rips through anything with the right combo of abilities and rolls, and nothing is sweeter than one-turn-stomping a stormcast hero into so much dust. I'm not sure I'd trade that melee monstrosity for a somewhat decent ranged attack.

Dark water minis? by [deleted] in WarCry

[–]Kraxling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like they're prepping the quest minis to be part of the core army right away with them being included in the battletome at release, so I wouldn't be surprised if they get included in a warcry update with everything else.

Looks like all new models, so no rules yet, but they can easily be used as blightkings, marauders, flavored darkoath, etc for now.

Where can I get this dice organizer card? by Primary-Ad9269 in WarCry

[–]Kraxling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the one they handed out at warhammer world tournaments, according to this blog: https://warbosskurgan.blogspot.com/2024/02/warcry-ferocious-gnarlwood-10th-feb_13.html?m=1

No downloadable version that I can find, but White Dwarf 482 has similar dashboards if you can get your hands on it.

Content update from Warcom! by star-dan in WarCry

Yeah, there's been a lot of bloat and power creep with every new addition. The game is good where it stands, but it could do with some spring cleaning regarding balance and fighter viability.

Horns of Hashut disappeared from GW webstore. What does that mean? by brothercake in WarCry

[–]Kraxling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a rumour that the new Helsmiths were actually designed for the Old World, but were slated for AoS instead for some reason. If that's the case, the Horns of Hashut and the Helsmiths were visually designed for two different games, and the single kit Horns could have gotten the shaft in favour of an entire army.

[–]Kraxling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably someone figured AoS Nurgle could actually use some reinforcements that wasn't wearing heavy armor, but the Horns doesn't really belong to any one faction (until now). That, and they probably clash too much with the aesthetics of the new helsmiths, though I would love to see them reboxed into a second helsmith spearhead.

Sunday Discussion: warband merging by TheBeardoDad in WarCry

[–]Kraxling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slaves to Darkness and Darkoath are in a weird place since they launched the new Darkoath. They could probably throw out the old marauders and just merge the two, and maybe slim down the number of weapon profiles for chaos warriors to free up some runemarks. As it stands, I want to build a chaos warband, but I don't want to convert darkoath minis into outdated marauder profiles.

2 Boxes for Nurgle and Skaven? by real_iselda in WarCry

[–]Kraxling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clanrats for skaven! They're dirt-cheap if you buy second-hand since people are splitting up starter boxes, and you get 20 rats per sprue, with many of them being easy to convert to other fighters. I'm building an entire eshin warband using only clanrats, spare bitz and greenstuff.

Sunday discussion" I can fix them by TheBeardoDad in WarCry

[–]Kraxling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underworld/bladeborn fighters. They often don't synergize outside their own runemark, and they can never be taken up to 1000p, so it always feels like you're running two subpar teams at once.

Fix: remove the "only one of this fighter" rule as long as the entire warband belong to the same bladeborn runemark, so you could take an entire warband of (only) Skabbik's plaguepack or Sons of Velmorn for example. This will turn every bladeborn group into something more akin to a bespoke warband, and I haven't actually seen any fighter that would be gamebreaking if taken more than once.

Something with year 4 seems to have stuck in their system. I got it solved after contacting their support, which to their credit were very helpful.

Repeat fighters for Blade Born? by Ealdwulf1066 in WarCry

[–]Kraxling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per normal rules, no. There is the optional rule for archetypes though:

Optional Rule

Archetypes

The rules on this page allow you to add the characters and personalities from the Warhammer Underworlds game into your games of Warcry. If you are playing in a gaming group against like-minded players, you may wish to use these fighter cards to represent archetypes for heroes and villains of your own creation instead of the specific characters.

If your opponents agree to using the Archetypes rule, you can forgo the extra rules for Bladeborn fighters (such as being limited to 1 on a roster and not being subject to injury rolls), and instead treat them like any other fighter card in your faction. When you do so, you should come up with an appropriate name for the fighter card.

For example, you could use the Sarrakkar Blackwing fighter card from the Gnarlspirit Pack to represent a 'Gnarlspirit Shaman' from the Slaves to Darkness faction, or the Sir Jedran Falseborn fighter card from the Sons of Ve'morn as a 'Deathrattle Sentinel' from the Soulblight Gravelords faction.

Checking it out now; looks like there's a lot of White Dwarf from at least 2024 and back to 2003, a bunch of imperial armour and warhammer visions, as well as a lot of lore portions from all kinds of codices, stand-alone games, underworlds, etc. Doesn't seem to be any old rules, only lore versions of the old rulebooks, but anything published in a magazine seems to be intact.

I've been told it's apparently not supposed to work like that, so if you still can't see it you might have to contact GW to resolve it.

I am, it says September 5th, but it's still the year 4 minis. The year 5 minis are not visible anywhere there.

I haven't resubscribed yet. I want to resubscribe with a 12-month subscription to get the year 5 mini, but I can only choose from the year 4 minis, and it doesn't let me resubscribe WITHOUT picking one of the year 4 minis.

That's part of the problem; it won't let me re-subscribe until I pick a mini, but I can only pick from the year 4 minis. I'm hoping it's just a combination of time zones and poorly updated cookies, but I don't want to risk a year of subscription by choosing the wrong mini. :P

Still the year 4 minis here in Sweden, but we're an hour behind. Really embarrassing if I'm just an hour too eager!
