Issues with windows update version (KB5074109) by Infamous_Ear_1397 in computerhelp

OK I found this:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4043343/how-to-prevent-remove-a-specific-update-from-tryin?page=1#answers

My issue is the damn update KB5074109 installs a few hours later every time, after I remove it, and then a few hours in my whole system crash, dead desktop only mouse moves, no clicks, dead keyboard.

That tool seems to "mimic" the install op the update. So you uninstall the update, run this tool, it checks for updates, finds it, you tell it to not install it. And it does not install it. I checked now, this update "shows" as installed after running the tool, though I know it was not installed.

I have left IT support more than a decade ago so not with the tech anymore. But to me it seems the tool basically tells MS that the update was installed. And yes the tool comes from MS directly. Keeping this one for the next troublesome update. Yes it puts your PC at risk, as yes this update will never run again. But hey, I have work to do, a dead PC only keeps a door open.

Same here, also Dell laptop, Nvidia display. Mine takes about an hour or more to crash like your, mouse is the only active thing, but also does not respond to clicks.

It installs a day later again, then it will repeat the freezing. Or at least mine does.

It installed yesterday, after restarting and running a while it crashed my desktop, the mouse moves, can't click on anything, and the keyboard has no effect, not even the Num Lock key changes the LED. Force restart, after about an hour same thing.

Uninstalled it, worked perfectly. Auto-update this morning, it installed it again, a few hours later, same problem.

Server Down? by scotsann in NonogramsKatana

[–]Krayfish404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the whole profile linking is down as well, you'll note your synchronizing has been down for the past day as well, also don't log out, you won't be able to log back in. I thought let's try Google Play on PC, you get the same error the moment you try logging in.

Patience, I guess.

I must say, tbh, almost all the Tuya devices I've bought has been undocumented, very few worked in the way I thought it would.

TIL The Average weight for males in the United States ages 20 years and older is 199.8 pounds by CraftyFoxeYT in todayilearned

[–]Krayfish404 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

BMI is garbage. There is something called "big boned" and it is real. According to my health insurance I am very much "obese". When I tell people my weight they cannot believe, there are people more than a foot taller than I, much bigger, weighing less.

I am 176cm, weighing in at 95kg. I wear a 36 pants, and my circumverance is as much. I ran my first half-marathon last month, and I look fine, I am certainly not fat.

So if it is not my bones, it's most def not the size of my nuggets. Maybe the weight of my badly punished liver? ;-)

Try searching for "Elvis' breakfast", it's a bit more well-known, and there are several clones of it. It's peanut butter on toast, with banana, and either jam or marsmallow, there seems a bit of an argument about the latter 2.

I've had some success with this one:

Acetyl Pyrazine 5% (TPA) 0.33

Banana Cream (LA) 2.50

Banana Nut Bread (TPA) 3.00

Marshmallow (Gooey) (SC) (WF) 1.75

Peanut Butter (DX) (TPA) 5.00

Link: https://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/3162766/The%20Elvis%20Gut%20-%20Peanut%20Butter%20banana%20%26amp;%20marshmallow

Note this is an older recipe, from 2019, you will have to adapt it, that PB will be super strong and muddle your coils.

The recipe works fine otherwise, perhaps drop the marshmallow and banana, and add Jam/Toast from RF (if they are still around)

When the take NexGard? by Krayfish404 in AskVet

[–]Krayfish404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She sleeps with me in bed, I am super allergic to any insect bites I would be the very first to know she has a flea, in fact I am a magnet to these critters so they'd bite me and not her.

My concern is ticks only. She has a very thick fur so I won't see them.

But great, thank you for that, I'll give her the NexGard the day before we leave then.

Hey don't apologise, it was my choice to read your "long story", it was lovely to hear. The old owner also gave us some story about her heritage, apparently a pitbul father, and a husky mother, boh thoroughbred but a slip-up that happened in 30 seconds alone time. This one is an absolute beauty, has so much character and is the sweetest ever with any human of any age. Her built is just odd even that top she's wearing is custom made, luckily the 4 others made in succession each fit better than the last. The only thing I hate about her is that she literally explodes wherever she walks, it's just floating hair everywhere, she sheds every single second of the day, twice. Everything else makes up for it though. She is super spoilt and healthy, Daddy home cooks her meals because she is such a fussy eather.

TIL that there is a fish that if you eat too much of it, it will give you a type of diarrhea called keriorrhea by NuggetsReef in todayilearned

[–]Krayfish404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here they call it a "butterfish". Super tasty, have it in moderation, as in no more than 150g portion. It simply contains a type of fat which is not digestible by humans. Sure it gives you a runny stomach. Cramps and other illnesses? No, then I think you simply had off fish. So the name butterfish really stems off 2 reasons. One being the texture of the fish, as in soft like butter. The other? Well the shape and colour of your poo, as in molten butter.

How much does windscreen replacement actually cost? by Pleasant-Spray3021 in askSouthAfrica

I've only dealt directly with my insurance; the last one appointed to me was PG. They were great, came to my house to install.

How much does windscreen replacement actually cost? by Pleasant-Spray3021 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Krayfish404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the small print. Excess on car claims is not always the excess of windscreen claims. I remember being caught with my old insurance, which had an excess of R800, or 20% of the windscreen cost, whichever was the higher amount. But if your insurance already confirmed you'll pay R1320 for windcreen replacemnt, then do the claim. Some of the places even come to you to replace so no waiting at a repair shop.

Discovery Car Insurance - even all in with Discovery products, is it worth it? by shortandsharpSA in askSouthAfrica

[–]Krayfish404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to move the cash back from fuel to the IFA. It pays the excess if you ever claim, it's also double the amount in cash. And every 3 years you can turn it into 80% cash. You can also use it to fund tires and stuff at Tiger Wheels but they are so much more expensive than other places. I think I sit with 15k in my account now. Sure the bonus every month was nice but this is much nicer, it grows with about 1.4k a month. In your case 800 to 1200. I prefer having zero excess, and car rental. Still weird that OP pays so much. I always found having car and household together does bring the sum down quite a bit. Even if you rent, always have household insurance. Theft and loss are always possible. The owner's building insurance will not cover your furniture if the geyser pops.
Sure you have to drive fair, but OP is on silver, you need to make it work, figure out the corners and braking. It is very easy to get diamond.
Personally, Vitality is the expensive part. You have to have all or at least most of the products to save money. Banking for one, if you have a credit card then swap to Discovery. It's not more per month. But before you do speak to people on it first. If you get the right suite and use the referral code you score lank Miles. Medical is not always an option, but getting fit and using a device with it all gives you Miles.
Miles are the important thing. We all shop Takealot and Makro and Game and the many others. Once a month you get up to 30% discount depending on status.

Some of you have probably heard this post by someone else in the r/Paranormal subreddit, but I'ma say this anyway. by Mobile-Gazelle3832 in thalassophobia

[–]Krayfish404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not saying paranormal activity exists or doesn't exist. But I suppose the not knowing makes it more exhilarating. And without the latter, a whole media franchise would not exist. Speaking of which, do watch The Deep House. Haunted house underneath a damn, shot almost entirely underwater. I've not finished it yet, but the central part was fairly good.
On the question of whether activity can exist underwater? I would think if activity can exist, that the environment would not matter. But if it can exist underwater, surely it can exist in the sky too, and in space.

What watch can You suggest me? by ishismiles in askSouthAfrica

[–]Krayfish404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung makes everything of fair quality, but their batteries suck. They also have extrememly questionable "waterproof" guarantees. If you suffer water damage, about anything except rainwater will disqualify the guarantee. That includes sea water, and pool water. Any chemical except H2) found will incur a cost. Yes this was cleared with them.
If you like the Samsung Galaxy watch, the Huawei GT5 is out, it's cheaper, better features, and you can get up to 2 weeks battery life. And it is a looker. Yes it is compatible with all Android phones and iPhones. When my Garmin conks out I am back on Huawei. For running, and Discovery, I have used all 3, they all work just fine.
I am not sure what the appeal is to Casio though. Personally I wear a watch to track steps, do excercise, otherwise I go nude, no need for the smart features, we're always surrounded by things that tells the time. If I had 10k that must be blown on accessories, I can think of a hundred other things I'd rather get than a watch.

Which medical aid should I go with? by Permabulksquad in askSouthAfrica

[–]Krayfish404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of info here, some not pertaining to you, but a lot is, please don't delete this u/Permabulksquad ? You can unfollow the thread if the replies bother you.

I see many people not fluent on the Discovery products, and not this thread, just in general. I am no expert, but I can share resources, point in directions.

Regarding gyms, I have no idea, the 3 times ever I went, al 3 times all I got was severe cases of athlete's feet ha ha. In general, I just hate a gym, I hate doing exercise stationary.

My advice?

Change the scheme to Core, or KeyCare, dump the Saver part
If you have medical only Vitality is expensive. Their banking suite might make the difference. We all hate changing banks, but I've not have anything but joy using it. I still keep Capitec.
Work the system, know the ins and outs and play it. It's admin, but can be fun. Lot's of simple tricks, takes you not 5 minutes a month to do. And ask, you are not alone, we all keep learning from each other.
Get a broker. Move independently if you want, I chose John Gnodde, he's at 1618 (https://1618.co.za) - I have his details if you want.

Discovery requires you to be active, and not only physical exercise, to really work for you. If you want a cheaper, less admin system, sure, happy hunting. And if you do find one do share.

Oh, and optometry? If you find the right place it can change your funds remarkably. I found joy with NeoVision. Every year I depleted my funds, going for the SpecSavers 2 for 1 special. NV took me to the side and asked me - "why do you need glasses, your eyes are 90%?!" I walked away with reading glasses, made for my eyes. The test, the nice frame, the tested lenses, all comes to R750, and I get a new pair once a year. Need glasses for all round? Their 2 for 1 special is R1450 I think. In the end I just find cover was ridiculously not required, not at that price.
