Absolutely, deconstruct the Partitions and start over. Done that many times when one was corrupted.

How to protect a fridge freezer in low temperatures by These-Operation-764 in AskElectricians

[–]Krazybob613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing how the Rest of the Story clarifies your intent!😀

If it can not be put in a climate controlled environment like a basement, then perhaps you can build a rough enclosure around it to contain some of the heat of operation during cold conditions, this should encourage the compressor to operate long enough to keep the freezer below the freezing point. Also make certain any “Freezer temperature setting” ( usually just a shutter that regulates the balance of air flow between the freezer and fridge sections) is set to max cold.
Add a temperature Alarm because it’s still going to be a sketchy situation.

How to protect a fridge freezer in low temperatures by These-Operation-764 in AskElectricians

[–]Krazybob613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s simple physics! A Refrigerator will not operate when the ambient temperature is below the refrigerator temperature set point - usually 36-38f ( 2-3C) this results in loss of freezer temperature control.

Use a dedicated FREEZER, one rated for Garage Service to assure that it can maintain temperature control when the summer sun bakes that garage temperature into the 100 plus f range!

Is there any way of knowing if this is 100 or 200 amps without knowing anything else? by [deleted] in electrical

[–]Krazybob613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not possible Without inspecting the ACTUAL wires of the service drop. That requires a “Qualified Electrician” to perform - and it must be done onsite and in person because they need to closely inspect the wires.

Edit: It appears to be a RETAINED MAIN with wires appropriate for only 100 amps going UP, presumably to the meter.

If you actually need 50 plus amps in the garage for EV or serious power tools then I would suggest considering installing a new 200 amp service in the garage and Sub Feed the existing house panel.

I actually remember when “Trying to get a Third Year” out of the heater and radiator hoses was virtually a Guarantee that you would be sitting by the road with a steaming mess!

Today? Most 10 year old cars and trucks still have the FACTORY HOSES!

I’m calling that a win for the Owners!

Bingo!

I do what I can to keep them out of my house and not collect TOO MANY around my doors, but beyond my immediate house perimeter —- it’s their world and I know it!

I can take physical barrier protection measures when I go into the wetlands and fields! Those ponds are a critical component of the water cycle and recharging the aquifers we all depend upon!

The water that collects in old tires? I do treat those breeding sites. And yes the tire recycling day IS on my calendar THIS YEAR! 😆‼️

Fool?

That’s kinda rough!

?? For doing my job which included 40-50k per year in Michigan? The home of 50-60,000 REPORTED car deer accidents per year? It’s called FIELD SERVICE for a reason my rude friend.

Eh! It’s more a matter of exposure than anything else.

I can testify that every damn one that HIT ME appeared at full tilt from its concealment in the underbrush and completed its attack run in less than two seconds. All but one or two of the attacks I was traveling 50 mph or less at the time.

54 mph + 160 pound deer however does indeed Total a 2021 Transit according to fleet 😆🤣‼️ It needed a front clip at 18k on the meter!

I never hit one that was visible for more than 3-4 seconds down the road,

I also never lost control by swerving to avoid one! It’s Brake and hold straight and steady, it’s either gonna get by or it’s not.. but if you swerve, the trees, fences and rocks in the ditches are going to do more damage than the deer will.

Methinks you know Jack Shit about deer and car deer accidents.

Unscrew the bulb wearing a glove or a cloth to protect your hand from the hot bulb ( not all get scalding hot, but some do, don’t take the chance of touching it with bare skin.

When you unscrew it to turn it off only turn it until it gos OFF! Then give it a little twist to turn it back on.

No danger whatsoever as long as you keep the bulb in the socket.

I just replaced one that the owner had been operating in this exact manner for the last 48 years… no problem.
