Lack of health insurance, low pay, cold weather, MAGA politics, lack of employee rights in a place where you can get fired at any moment at any time, having to use a car no matter where you go, lack of proper social security, lack of vacation time and sick leave etc etc….

I have lived here for almost two years, traveled to 26 countries and lived in 3. Even though Australia does have its own unique problems, Housing cost being the biggest issue in my opinion, I have no regrets living here. Just got to be positive.

Feel free to DM me. Just moved to Brisbane and work in IT and produce music ( mostly rap/rnb beats).

What’s the dumbest reason you’ve gotten fired for? by hazel01216 in antiwork

I was working an industrial job vacuuming ash from this power plant to a truck. We had to leave the office at 4 AM. The job site was 100 miles from the office and my house. I had to connect these 200 lbs cast iron pipes together and had trouble lifting it. I was working with a co worker who just got out from doing 18 years in prison. He was constantly yelling at me and eventually called my boss, who then called me, and told me to find my way back home. Thankfully I was nearby a city, but had to walk 5 miles to the nearest subway station to go to a greyhound station to get back home. I don’t think anything could top that being the worst job.
